I chose Tantra based on recommendations on Tripadvisor and though I was a little skeptical about the standards of cleanliness and service I was assured once entering our little hut. The huts are very basic with bed, lockable cupboard to store valuables, mosquito net, bamboo drying rack and attached concrete floor bathroom with a curtain for a door. Since the huts are temporary as they are dismantled once the season is over in May, they are made of wood with woven mats as walls covered with plastic. These are not soundproof but if you enjoy the sounds of waves lapping at your side and the awesome tantric music from the cafe then its definitely not a problem. The great thing is you step out and are on the beach! There are a bunch of huts to choose from along the beach so when its not so busy you can actually just land up there and find something. Tantra is great because the meals are the best on the beach and we had most of our meals there. Prashant , Shann, Raj and other guys all are really helpful.
Its easy to find just get off on the road to Patnem beach and they are the second establishment on the right from the entrance to the beach. Patnem is a lot quieter and more secluded with hardly Indian tourists, no hawkers and touts. It is the place to go to relax.More
