I'm agreeing with the other comments and regret not finding them, before I booked. I paid $470 Plus I gave them a holiday voucher, for our family's 3-day get-away, thinking that paying the extra $ for the front top level rooms, it should be good quality! Since I also paid the extra $ for 2 extra children, I figured it shouldn't be a problem to get a couple extra towels for the pool- well that would incur an additional charge I was told. We really wanted to relax and enjoy. According to the website photos(which must have been taken many years ago) it 'looked' very appealing. Well thankfully the views outside didn't disappoint, but not happy with accommodation unit or facilities. I had to vacuum the bedrooms before using as they were visibly not done. Positive points: they hosed off the paths and BBQ & pool areas, new fridge and useful washing machine, and we even had fun playing ping-pong in the 'cement dungeon'. But the place Badly needs TLC; from the musty smelling 'recreation' room, grungy bedspreads, bare walls, uncomfortable mattresses & pillows, dusty-dirty sofa-bed, dirty windows/doors, to the not-so-helpful managers. Cabarita is a gorgeous area, I will come again, but not at Diamond Beach Resort, sorry.

3 night stay. Directly accross from 3 beaches to chose from.
Management friendly and accomodating. Units a bit out of date.
Unheated pool. Great bbq area. Security parking.
10 minute walk to shops, cafes, etc.
Quiet location.

Room Tip: The beachfront units cost a lot more, but I don't think you can see too much beach as there is a...

These apartments are in a great location, with all front apartments having stunning views across the ocean. The apartment we stayed in (two adults and two kids) could have done with a good spring clean and a revamp - greasy fingerprints on doors, dust around windowsills, grotty bedspreads, poor assortment of mismatching crockery and cutlery. We got a very cheap deal, though, so all was forgiven (more or less). The kids loved the pool, though sadly the spa wasn't working. The onsite manager was so laidback, hard to tell whether she doesn't care or is - well, just very laidback. When we stayed, there was extensive painting work going on, so hopefully the revamp will continue to give these tired apartments a fresher feel. Would be good if they reviewed their cleaning service too.

Room Tip: There is some road noise so higher floors may be quieter - but be aware there's no lift and stai...

We took our 2 kids here for the weekend and were not impressed. The lady at the desk asked my daughter what she was looking forward to, which my daughter replied "The heated swimming pool" - little did we know, nor were we told then, the pool was freezing! The spa was heated but looked like it hadnt been cleaned in months as well as the bubbles were not working. The uncleanliness and lack of maintenance was evident as we continued to explore. The table tennis room was the only facility open (it was covered in dirt) and the gym and rec room advertised were locked our entire stay. The AUSTAR in all rooms apparently didnt include ours. On the plus side, our unit was clean, well laid out and well equipped for the family - just dont rely on the facilities or the unit managers for help. Shame really, Cabarita is a wonderful place and the protected beach and headland are great for families to play.

(if you own a unit in this place - I would be doing something about the managers)

Room Tip: Rooms are OK, dont plan on using the resort facilities..

We are a couple in our fifties and booked 3 nights stay at Diamond Beach Resort at Northern Rivers district NSW. Cabarita Beach. On arrival the hotel had scaffolding covering the front of the hotel which is 3 or 4 stories high, and builders junk along front (only access) to unit entries and office entry. Collected key from disinterested manager. Went to our 2 bedroom apartment which was quite roomy and comfortable though very old (ancient) fridge and stove. When we walked out to the large front balcony it was completely covered in dirt and rubble. The outdoor setting was unusable and stacked in a corner. Scaffolding was right to our balcony. We were not informed of any repairs when booking. I spoke to extremely disinterested manager next morning and asked politely if some one would be able to clean down balcony so we would be able use it. She informed that "no, thats just the way it is!" I persevered very politely that we would really like to be able to use the balconey and eventually said she 'might' be able to hose it down. We were actually tracking large amounts of dirt back into the lounge every time we did walk out there. We returned to the unit later that day to find she had hosed it down but we still could not use the table and chairs as they had not been cleaned and were still stacked in the corner. We gave up. Glass doors onto back balconey were covered in mould and back balconey was also uncleaned for a very long time. Bed and bedding grubby and uncomfortable. Don't waste your time or money. Pity really. It has the makings for a great holiday apartment.
