“Great accommodation, fantastic massage!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

If you are looking for friendly and accommodating staff, clean and well equiped appartments and a FANTASTIC MASSAGE, then this resort is the place to visit. We have been there twice now and have been impressed on both occasions. The staff are extremely friendly and the accommodation is spacious. My friend and I booked a massage with Marie-Elise Allen at the resort and she was fantastic! She is a professional and passionate masseuse who understood our requirements and gave a top quality massage. Thank you, Marie-Elise and the team at The Beach Resort. We will be back for more and happy to recommend your restort.

Room Tip: We have stayed in a beach front and mountain view. Both were great... ask for 2nd level if you want...

We decided on the penthouse for a family get together – five adults plus baby, great apartment, beautifully furnished and appointed – it didn’t disappoint. Plenty of room for all of us.
There’s no room make up each day, sheets and towels are changed weekly BUT they do supply detergent and there was a washer and dryer in the room. Could be a hassle if you were staying for an extended time.
It seems like about half the rooms face the ocean and the other half are on the back side of the complex facing inland – so be careful when you book. From the front of the hotel you are about 100metres to the patrolled surf beach – no road to cross, ideal for the kids.
The resort pool was popular as was the spa but they are in the centre of the complex – why use them when you have a beautiful beach so close?
The staff were exceptional – friendly, competent, welcoming, they were a pleasure whenever we met them.
We ate at the restaurant downstairs – pub food and given the number of people on a Thursday night it seemed very popular with both the locals and guests. Meals were reasonable quality. The restaurant and bar are open to the public.
The surf club adjacent to the restaurant has a great view of the ocean and beach from the first floor – order your meals from the restaurant below and they bring them upstairs for you. Great meals. Like most surf clubs the prices are good and you are supporting a good cause when you drink there.
There are two or three restaurants/coffee shops within walking distance of the resort.
I’d have no hesitation in returning but would definitely be staying on the ocean side of the complex.

Room Tip: If you're going to the beach choose the ocean view rooms

Well equipped unit, spacious and very clean. It is a lovely place to have a quiet holiday. We have stayed at this complex before and will return again. Meals at the bar/bistro are good and well priced.
Close to surf beach and good for going on walks from.
In summer it would have been nice to be able to use the spa after 9pm as we are from across the border in Queensland and think of this time as only 8pm.
Some of the beach view units are accessed by steps only. This makes moving in and out tiresome as luggage and supplies have to be carried up a couple of flights of stairs. The design of the building should have been to have lifts to all floors.

It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we love getting feedback from our guests. From your description, it sounds like you may have stayed in a 'Sky Apartment'. These apartments have 2 flights of stairs. Perhaps on your next visit request an 'Ocean View Apartment' which is accessible by lift; and of course you cant go past a 'Beachfront Apartment' which is also on lift level. We look forward to seeing you next time.

A group of us stayed in the Penthouse suite for my Boyfriend's mother's 50th and it was unforgettable! The suite was beyond amazing. We didn't want to leave because it was so beautiful. The views were amazing as were the facilities.
If I had one complaint it would be that they don't turnover your sheets even after a week of staying there. They provide a laundry room to clean your own sheets but when you're on a relaxing holiday that is the last thing you want to do. Other than that everything was perfect.
Can't wait to get up there!

Room Tip: Get the penthouse with the pool! It's beautiful and worth every penny!

We were looking for a family holiday somewhere a bit quiet and chose Cabarita as the beach is normally great. We booked based on the reviews and were not disappointed.
We were in room 208, located on the corner of the builing, which has views of the beach and the surf club. The apartment was huge and well equiped with european appliances, good quality bedding everything that you could need.
The middle pool is heated, however we had rain 5 of the 7 days we were there and spent more time in the spa than the pools.
The really were only 2 down falls - 1 was that 2 of the 3 bedrooms were quite musty, due to the fact that the area has had 5 weeks of constant rain. We turned off the air con and opened the windows every chance we had and after 4 days it was alot better. The staff were also using dehumidifiers while we were there so I would have to say that they were doing what they could...
Secondly we were near a large a/c unit, I assume mounted on the ceiling near the 2 bedrooms and at night it was like an jet engine humming along.
The staff are friendly and helpful, there is a game and video library that the kids loved also.
All in all a great spot.

Room Tip: We were happy with 208, but 207 would give the beach view - more private.

We stayed just after New Year in the penthouse on the top floor. The best thing about the place is the proximity to that great beach, patrolled, with lots of fun to be had around the rocks near the headland at the southern end.

We loved Cabarita because it felt like the beach holidays in the old days - slower paced and very relaxing.

The apartment itself was roomy, the kitchen was well-equipped, the bedrooms were big enough and beds comfy enough. Lovely airy, spacious lounge room and balcony overlooking the pool (internal) with a glimpse of the beach.

For the price we paid, however, we were surprised to find -
1) no flyscreens on the windows, so at night we could not leave the windows open to catch the breeze without being infested by flying insects,
2) The curtains were too thin, and
3) there was a lack of drawers or shelves in the 2nd and 3rd bedroom wardrobes.

Another negative for some people would be that the apartment was up a few flights of stairs - luckily we are fit and our kids are old enough to walk up themselves, but Granny would have had a hard time of it after a morning on the beach!

The pool (more precisely a conglomeration of small pools and narrower waterways) was a bit of fun for the kids (they only went in twice), but it would be hard to have a decent swim in it. As it is in the centre of the four wings of the complex, it also is a bit claustrophobic.

We were well away from the pub underneath the complex, so were not disturbed by any noise. We didn't like the look of the pub anyway - the menu was very restricted, plus expensive. The surf club restaurant across the pathway was fabulous - great food and service at reasonable prices.

I would stay there again, but I would be careful not to spend too much on the room, because as some other reviewers have stated, it is not a real "resort" like we have come to expect.

Stayed for daughter's wedding and had a fantastic time despite the remnants of the cyclone doing all it could so we couldn't get to the planned beach location. We had two excellent apartments, a two bed mountain view and three bed beach view which gave us plenty of space. Location is great and enough choices of place to eat near the resort. The pool looked OK but given the weather didn't make use of it. A small problem at check-in with which 3 bed apartment was booked was quickly sorted out thanks to reception and when we left on the Monday were told any problems getting back to Brisbane to return to the hotel for another night without charge. Would stay her again and have no problem in recommending this as a place to stay to others.
