“One great place”
Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

This mill is of a different type. The sluice is 1/2 mile long and it run a to a drop channel that drive a turbine. The mill the area and the drive are wonderful. The best way to see it us to take rt 441 out of Gatlinburg and thru the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. The ride alone is breath taking! If you find yourself in the park it would be a crime to miss this mill and the visitors center across the street. There is a living history farm at the visitors center.

“Best drive thru the mountains”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

If you ever go to the Great Smokey Mountains you have to drive thru the National Park and check out the Mingus Mill. Besides the great wildlife and scenery along the way you'll see old cabins built from the past. They still sell the flour from the old mill. Just a great look and some history.

“Been here several times”

We always stop here. Not sure why it doesn't change but we enjoy seeing it again and again. Nice old mill. Short walk.

“Beautiful site and history”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

It's not the kind of thing you make the whole trip to go to, but if you're there, it's worth stopping. It has history of the mill, both the specific mill and the use of mills in general, and it's a lovely place. A short, easy walk.

“Very educational”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

Easy walk to the mill. Very educational about how the mill works. Good example of the craftsmanship and use of native resources in the contruction of the mill. Be sure and walk the length the mill race above the mill.
