“Triton, the place to stay in Sodwana Bay”

The second time round to Triton Dive Lodge in Sodwana was even better than the first time, because now you realise the quality of their service. Peter, Eve, Sumarie, Kim and the rest of the staff is all very helpfull and nothing is too much for them. Kim is a whizz in the kitchen and all her meals were yummy! The en-suite rooms are excellent and even the communal bathrooms are a pleasure to use. Socialising at the fire is the best part of the evening. Not to mention the service when it comes to diving - well done Eve and team.

Definitely my choice for a quiet dive holiday.

Room Tip: Most rooms are far from the braai area, so it never gets too noisy. There is a 10 o'clock noise...

This is the place to be for excellence in the diving industry. Staff are amazing and always ready to help, very knowledgeable and conduct themselves in the most professional manner. Rooms are adequate as most of your time is spent on the beach or around the braai. The kitchen/braai area is awesome and most nights are spent socializing with other divers swapping stories of the days dives. The rooms are far enough away so early nights are possibly without being disturbed. We will not stay anywhere else.

The venue is fantastic, awesome atmosphere with friendly staff.
We stayed in a chalet, the only complaint I have is that the mattresses are the hardest thing I have ever slept on, sleeping on a cement floor would have had the same effect.

Other than that the pace get my recommendation

Divers, be prepared for ten divers in your group. For whatever reason, this size of group is standard in Sodwana and other places in South Africa. My friend and I are experienced divers and loathe being in the water with new divers apt to kick off your mask. Certified divers are not babied underwater and in your buddy pair you're responsible for keeping track of air.

For the obscene rate charged on daily full gear hire, the equipment was fine, 5mm wetsuits very floaty and warm if ripping at some seams. We had great dives with Eve. She is keen to point out cool critters and gives excellent briefings about possible marine sighting on the dive. Good after dive care, interaction.

Bring your own snacks, water for surface intervals as they provide none.

Lodge itself is acceptable. The entire place has a "summer camp" feel to it. They're not near the beach and a harrowing one kilometer drive on a sand track is required to get there. Just keep moving! Wifi not working during our visit and if it is you have to pay for it. We didn't eat at the restraunt and self-catered the entire time (bring groceries with you - there's little in the way of fresh at the local store). Well-stocked kitchen and allocated space in fridge and freezer. "Mixer" fires nightly were good for interacting with other guests. Best of luck getting hot water from the showers. Mound of dirty dishes (washed nightly by staff) is off putting during the day.

We stayed at the dive lodge two nights, while doing a refresher course and a couple of dives. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and Kim is an amazing cook. Diving with Triton was a great experience. The divemasters are professional, knowledgeable and also patient with us "beginners". Triton was a great experience, the only thing we didnt like was the cleanliness of the rooms.

I would definitely dive with Triton again, but I might choose to stay somewhere else.

Triton Dive Lodge is and always will be the Perfect holiday. I have been going to Triton since I was 6 and every experience is better than the last. I recently took the 1 Star CMAS course, I was very pleased with my results. This is all thanks to My Instructors Lloyd, Tanya, Peter and Eve who made the lectures informative and entertaining. On the Beach, the Staff show their skills. Their Professional and Intelligent Staff will have your Gear on the Beach bright and early. The Diving exceeds all your expectations. The most important thing is that they treat you like Family. Which Is why I choose Triton Dive Lodge :)

Room Tip: Not matter what room you are staying in, it is quite and very comfortable. If you want to have the b...

Spent two nights here in early January. Rates are very cheap and they are conveniently located.

Something to note is that they are a dive centre first, and they do this very well. Dives are organised and divemasters very knowledgeable. I did three dives with them and was top notch.

On the accomodation side they are above average, but rooms could use with an upgrade.

Food is great but quite pricey so I would advise bringing your own.

Each guest gets assigned freezer and fridge space in the communal kitchen and they have an honesty bar.

overall- its has a very backpackers feel but is clean, safe and friendly.
