The best part is the drive from Leh to Nubra. We stayed at Himalayan Guest House in Hunder. Contact person: Mr. Ghulam Hussain Contact number: 0969177470, 01980221131

Highly recommended. The guest house is a homestay and run by a very friendly family. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The chef is superb. Vegetables used for the meals were plucked from the garden.
Plus point: The family arranged a bon fire for us in the night. Next to the guest house is a stream of fresh water. One can enjoy the view and meet Ladakhi children here.

This place is just fantastic. Bound on one side by the Karakoram mountains range and on the other side by another range, with Shyok river flowing through it, this place is picture perfect. When you are here do visit the Diskit Monastery, Summeru Monastery, Camel Safari and the hot springs.

A must visit while in Leh. You can spend one night at Nubra Valley. YOu have a choice of either staying at Hunder Village or at Sumur. I had stayed at Hunder as it's closer to the famous sand dunes where one can enjoy a camel ride. Sumur is an hour away from the sand dunes and the condition of the roads are not too good. Both the places have good accommodation facilities. You can opt for a stay at the guest house or in tents.

One must have one night stay over here. The road is quite high which may make u very tired as it's a world's highest motorable road. One need to keep drinking lot of water while travvelling
