“nice food and atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

Met friends here for lunch just after Christmas, the pub had a lovely atmosphere.
Food was nice, served quickly by friendly staff.
Dinks are quite pricey butthe wine was good so it didnt bother us too much!
Big free car park at the back of the pub.
If your in cheadle give it a go

“Great service and food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

I would like to say a massive thanks to the manager and staff of the Ashlea....we celebrated my sisters 50th birthday here on Sat 28th Dec. There were 42 guests and we had the whole of the downstairs area.We choose the festive fair menu and were not disappointed, the food was served in a timely manner, all hot and well presented, a miracle considering our large party!
Steve the manager was great allowing us to come earlier and dress the tables etc....nothing was too much trouble...not even the constant phone calls to the pub!
We were so impressed alot of the party have booked for New Years Eve!

“It was good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

This was a return visit and we took some friends there. We were not embarrassed; the service was good and friendly although the waiter did say there were only two of them on. The fire in the little lounge area had gone out and they made no attempt to re-light it which was a pity perhaps. The food was good although we did think that the creme brulee in the cup was lacking in volume if not in taste. At the price it was a meagre portion.
We went early in the evening so had to share the room with a family party including some (very) young, and noisy, children.
Overall it was OK though and we will go again.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

Just been to the Ashlea and had the best Roast Ive had in Stockport for years and this was at 6pm on a Sunday evening. There were 5 in our party and we all enjoyed our meals.
The atmosphere, service and food was excellent, so we will definately be recommending it to friends and family.

“Gone down hill”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2013

My husband treated us to a meal here on Sunday as a treat, we have not been for a few months but the last time we came we were spoilt for choice but this time we were pushed to find something that we fancied as the menu used to be quite special but now is just medioca. The service was shocking and when the food did come it was nothing special! We waited 20 minutes for the cheese board to come and the waitress said "sorry we only have one side plate" and didn't even come with a cheese knife. Such a shame as it was once a great place to eat but we won't be returning in a hurry! Also too many tables rammed in, my daughter couldn't even get out from the table when we were leaving as the person at the next table was too close!
