“Beyond excellent!!!”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

We recently spent 19 days travelling in France. Following a river cruise, we stayed for 7 nights at the Chateau. We wish we could have stayed longer! Our stay there was beyond excellent!! The chateau is absolutely beautiful, including the interior decorationl!! The property is expansive and includes a vineyard. Breakfast can be eaten inside or outside and was delicious. Dinner is available by reservation on Wednesday and Friday evenings. The beds are extremely comfortable. The owners, Conny and Hein, could not have been nicer during our week long stay. Their suggestions regarding what to see and where to eat were very helpful and made their B&B the ideal place to stay and explore Provence. Chateau Talaud is a must! Words really do not describe how wonderful our stay was! We will be back and it will be soon!!!! The Chateau was an excellent recommendation by travel agent Dana Born at Avoya Travel.

Room Tip: The Red Room is palatial and beyond description, but all rooms are unbelievably gorgeous and large...

Our week-long stay at Chateau Tallaud was extraordinary! The property is beautiful, with classic gardens and it was quite a shock to find ourselves in this amazing chateau just 15 minutes from Chateauneuf du Pape, one of the best wine regions in France . Our room (the Blue Room) was absolutely gorgeous, furnished with beautiful antiques and with all the authentic touches to make you feel like royalty, but with modern conveniences added (halogen lighting in the bathroom!)

Our host, Connie, was an absolute gem: from the perfect breakfasts to the evening reservations bookings, she was always there to help. We also attended a dinner served in the garden prepared by a local chef which was magnificent. Connie and her husband have done an amazing job restoring this chateau and creating a luxurious yet relaxed environment for their guests. We promised to return with the whole family!

Room Tip: Blue room is the most gorgeous one in my opinon

We went back to Talaud and as ever it is a 5 star for much less money. The rooms are huge , luxurious , air-conditioned , and Conny and Hein the owners are always totally committed to every guests needs. It is without a doubt the best BB we know, highly recommended again.
Try eating in the evening the local chef is brought in to cook !

We were a family of 18 occupying much of the Chateau for almost a week. I agree with all the superlatives that the grounds received in previous reviews. Its nicer than what you see in the movies on the Provence. Since we had all ages of children running around, I can state that both Conny and Hein were very friendly and very helpful and VERY patient. When I read comments that Hein or Conny were unfriendly to some guests, these are not the Hein and Conny that we met. On top of running the Chateau, they helped us by giving us touring ideas and where are the best market days. Breakfast is vey good and dinner was great. They must have an excellent chef and he was extremely cooperative to accomodate our various dietary constraints and preferences. We all highly recommend the Talaud and hope to revisit some day.

a stay in the chateau talaud is our way of living the perfect life in the Provence. The b&b is realy a 6 star hotel. The rooms are huge, superbly decorated with interior design level of details and have airco!!!
the welcoming, personal service, the manicured gardens, the efforts by the owners to make us feel at home and meet the other guests all added to an exceptional experience of quality of life.
Not a worry in the world

Room Tip: - the chateau offers appartments in addition to the rooms (eg the Orangerie, Petit Talaud). These ar...

We recently stayed for four nights at the Chateau Talaud and it was wonderful. The property is gorgeous and you couldn't ask for better B&B hosts than Conny and Hein. They are super attentive, full of great suggestions, and just genuinely very nice people. Be sure to ask Conny for restaurant recommendations in the area. She'll point you to cute little romantic restaurants in these small little towns that you wouldn't find otherwise, and she can pull some strings to get you a beautiful table even if the restaurant is fully booked!

If you happen to stay on a night that they're serving a chef's dinner to the guests, I would highly recommend you take them up on it. The dinner was very delicious, service attentive and it was nice not to have to drive afterwards (allows you to enjoy more of that wonderful wine from their very own vineyard). I especially liked the social before dinner with the other guests. It was a great way to meet other travelers and share ideas on where to go in the area. Everyone sits at separate tables for dinner...but it would have been just as great to sit with everyone and continue the conversation! One piece advice, be sure to pack mosquito repellent...if you sit outside in the evening you will get eaten alive!

We stayed in the Cherry suite. It's very spacious and comfortable. The decor is very traditional and elegant. You can tell someone had very thoughtfully decorated the room. It has a full ensuite that has both a shower and a clawfoot bath tub. Even though, everything is traditional, you have every modern convenience in the room (the shower was wonderful!). And even though the place is quite old, it doesn't have that old musty smell that some other places do.

Breakfast is served buffet style with some good variety (different breads, pastries, cheese, fruit, cereal grains, some form of protein such as hb eggs or cold cuts, yogurt, fresh juice, coffee, tea, etc.) For a French breakfast, this was a very good selection compared to what we've experienced in other places. It's not like our hearty American breakfasts, but there was certainly enough for us to start our day properly!

It's no wonder this place has so many great reviews on TripAdvisor. Travelers are not exaggerating on this one, so be sure to check it out!

We returned to chateau Talaud for a 3rd visit with our last stay being 9 years ago. We are a family of 5 and had a guest of our children as well. Our children stayed in the yellow room and my husband and I in the red room. We returned after all these years and many other travels because Chateau Talaud is such a special place. Conny and Hein welcomed us back like family. The chateau is beautiful , spacious and you have a feeling of living in former times but with all the modern amenities and more. The breakfasts on the the grounds, and the pool were enjoyed by all. The dinner was spectacular as well. Conny helped us plan new destinations for the 4 days we spent in provence and all of her restaurant recommendations as well as the wine tastings were superb . We will surely return for a 4th visit!!
