I cannot erase the smile on my face as I saw the glamping tents. They were perfectly equipped with the basic (and luxurious) needs of a wannabe camper. I've never seen anything like this.

The service is excellent. We had our own butler / camping assistant. He looked and checked out on us all the time. He brought us anything we requested for.

The food are all awesome! The presentations are lovely. The taste is great.

Looking forward for our next visit! ---> http://www.chyngreyes.com/2013/01/glamorous-camping-in-sumilon-cebu.html

we went to sumilon in december of 2012, it was just after the typhoon struck and we did expect some damage. the island is still beautiful and i was disappointed that we cannot avail of some of our free activities due to the damage done by the typhoon. i was looking forward to going to the falls and snorkelling but they replaced it with a tour to the city. it wasn't as great but again i want to be fair to them as they just got struck by a calamity. we appreciate the tour given and we even got buffet dinner on our 2nd night. i have to say though, ala carte is better or the food tastes better than when they serve buffet. what disappointed me the most, which is not excusable because it is in no way related to the disaster was when my husband asked when we could be taken to see the whalesharks, we were told we needed to get a special trip which requires payment. they were kind enough to inform us that they can add us to the other couples and groups so that the payment can be divided amongst us. we agreed and we were given a time for the next day, which my hubby even confirmed that night. we received a call very early in the morning saying that the trip was cancelled. my hubby just asked that we go on the earliest regular transfer so that we do not need to pay for it. he was told that there is no early transfer as they will pick someone up from the airport. we were forced to settle for the transfer at almost noon time, i was concerned that we wouldn't see the whalesharks. funny thing was when we were having breakfast, there was a group of people who came from the whaleshark trip. when hubby inquired and he was told by the person manning the frontdesk at the time that we should have joined the group that left early in the morning. my hubby told her we were supposed to join them but we got a call saying it was cancelled. she said she will confirm it-and she did confirm that we were bumped off because the group was already full. i do not appreciate dishonesty, whoever called us to say it was cancelled when in reality we were bumped off because the boat was full should have just told us the truth. it was also bad that they were the ones who offered the trip to us that night and confirmed it but then eventually bumped us off so early in the morning-what happened? how come they were not full that night but was full come early morning? i was pissed but still hopeful i would get to see the whalesharks. when we were about to leave to see the whalesharks, we were asked to wait at the restaurant. i don't understand what we were waiting for because the "golf cart" was already there to take us to the port. for some reason the girl at the front desk asked us to walk around the freaking island until we reach the port. i was really pissed off because it was almost noon-they made us take this late transfer/trip and then they make us walk to the port? my hubby went back to the restaurant because we forgot our bottled water while i walked under the heat of the sun...after awhile hubby caught up to me to tell me that they asked us to go back to the resaurant because we could already ride the "golf cart". what the hell? so we went back and we were made to wait for another 10mins and i finally figured out what was happening! the driver of the golf cart and his companion were talking and i overheard the companion ask what we were waiting for. the driver said that we were being made to wait for a couple who overslept because they went diving early in the morning with the whalesharks. when i heard this i already complained to the driver who was kind enough to tell the girl on the radio that we will leave already. seriously??? make us walk around the island to the port because you wanted the damn couple who were late to ride the golf cart?make us wait for a good 20mins for these people who have no respect for other people and their time? the wait did not end there...when we reached the port on the other island where a van was waiting for us, we were again made to wait for this couple who did not even apologize to us because we pretty much waited for them for a good 25mins! i don't want to assume that we got this unfair treatment from the resort because the guy we were made to wait for is a foreigner...but i really cannot fathom why they would ask us to walk around the island until we reach the port because this foreigner is still sleeping! it would have been a great vacation, we got to see the whalesharks even though it was under the heat of the sun. the beach has fine white sand and the island is beautiful even with the damage, but the service really sucked!

A Perfect getaway for people who loves snorkeling-the corals are alive and the fish are in various color and shapes, very diverse and just a step away from their not-too-fine-and-sandy beach---so bring your beach shoes. Since the seabed is not that sandy, the water is so clear, you can even see fish egg properly laid on the corals and baby fish. It's a snorkeling heaven. Don't forget to bring your own snorkeling gear and underwater camera. Nice lagoon for kayaking and a beautiful infinity pool facing Cebu. The only downside is their beautiful sandbar at the other side of the island, it's public and it's a destination of a lot of boats bringing tourists in the area so you can never claim it private though you are a guest of Sumilon. There's always a lot of people there. I still found a space to enjoy the sandbar though, I never thought it's that huge. I think they need to spruce up the resort more to make it more cozy and soft since the island is rocky and sharp as it is a coral island.

Love the service provided by the staff. The massage parlor perched on the cliff is fantastic. Enjoyed the cool breeze, therapeutic sounds of waves and the relaxing touches of the masseur. Food was decent, and the cocktails were yummy! Room was very spacious and the verandah was very useful to hang out our diving stuff.

Had a minor incident with the toilet bowl, but it was easily fixed by the service staff.

Diving around the island was awesome. Saw a whale shark swim past! Too bad the BCD look rather tattered, but otherwise it served its function.

We stayed at cebu city for 2 days before moving to sumilon bluewater resort and i asked for a pick up at our hotel. On the day of our transfer to the island, a driver picked us up promptly at 730am but expected only 2 people not our group of 5. He informed us that he only brought a vios and we had to squeeze ourselves 5 adults and a 10 yr old boy inside the small car and drove for 2hrs 40 min to Bluewater's pick up point in sumilon. I cleared this mistake straight away with my contact in the Manila office and she was very apologetic and said that cost of our transfer will be removed from our bill. At the pick up point, the view of the island is great and we were all excited to get there. Once at the boat, we noticed big groups were joining us. The resort has only 14 duplex type accommodations but is open for unlimited day tourists. So from 9am to 530 pm, the place is crowded with people on day tour. We checked in at 1pm an hour earlier than the standard 2 pm. Lunch was buffet (nothing spectacular) which we took before check in together with maybe a hundred day tourists. The pavilion, which is also the Frontdesk, restaurant, and library and gift shopis not a big area. So lunchtime is a really crowded affair. Our room was ok. Basic but ok because it has Internet. i did find it odd though that shelves for clothes, (not even a closet) are inside the toilet. After 5 pm the resort starts to resemble an idyllic island getaway for travelers like us who want hassle free vacations although it doesnt really come close. Swimming options are the infinity pool, sand bar that appears only on low tide (early to late afternoon) and mind you is quite a distance from the accommodations on foot but you can ask for a ride on their one and only beat up tram car that almost conked out on us once, plus the beach near the dive shop and the beach in front of the accommodations. The last 3 swimming sites are very rocky and filled with broken corals (swim shoes are highly recommended). At high tide the waves are big, current a bit strong but still ok and enjoyable. Snorkeling is at your own risk. U can borrow the snorkeling gear from the dive shop where u will be warned that if u break it, u pay for it. There are no divers to go along with you or show you where the corals are nice and all that stuff. I guess you're on your own or there aren't really any nice snorkeling sites. (go to palawan for that). One of the bad moments we had was lunch on our 2nd day which i expected would be as riotous as the first because day tourists were pouring in starting mid morning. We went a bit late at 1245 to avoid the crowd. Unfortunately, there was no more food. I asked 3 people if they would refill the buffet, and they all had the same answer, that they will check the kitchen. Some food came out later but is a different dish which was from last night's buffet. A big let down after paying for full board meals. The meals on the menu look good but are very pricey! Let's just say I will never recommend this place to anyone! And will i ever go to this resort again? a resounding No. There are many other islands worth visiting that can give you peace, quiet and good service!

Bluewater Sumilon is a good place to relax. It may not have a 5 star facility but they offer more than the basics. Except for the very slow internet in the cottages, the spacious room/cottages, good food choices ,very clean beach, peaceful surroundings, and the very friendly and courteous staff make your stay so relaxing and well worth the long trip from Cebu airport to Oslob Island. My very picky husband liked it there because it was a quiet and stressfree place.

This resort was very nice with a large room and the view from the patio was phenomenal. I come from a cold climate so there is nothing I like more than feeling the ocean breeze and watching the waves come crashing in. They have activities you can do such as kayaking in the lagoon or snorkeling. You can lounge by the infinity pool they have or my favorite activity was when my wife and I took a hike around the island. i have never been on an island that no one lives on so i thought that was pretty cool. The food at the resort was pretty good some may say its expensive but if you can afford to stay there i am sure you can afford the food. I was told we came at a wrong time because of a typhoon that happened a month prior. I was disappointed because the main beach was very choppy and we could not swim or snorkel The other beach outside our room was very rough as well plus its very rocky and i did not bring any sea shoes. I did manage to get a swim in at the sandbar and that was very nice. I would like to stay here again maybe in march when the sea is a little calmer but i think one night is plenty to do everything Sumilon has to offer.
