“Wonderful experience”
Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant is in an old farm which gives a wonderful ambience. There is one set menu. The food and wine is abundant and very tasty. The service is friendly and efficient. All in all a wonderful experience for a good price. Tip: get a good route discription. The place is difficult to find, especially at night!

“Il cuore del salento”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

I was invited to a wedding here at the Stanzie and what a wonderful wedding an ideal location for a very low key but stylist salento style wedding from the antipasti with fresh buffalo mozzarella being made to the dancing all night to the local Pizzica music. The ffod was very good very typical salento food as was the wine overall a great place for a meal with friends or holding a party

“A must try”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

First of all this is a beautiful masseria - if you come early enough i think they have a tour and you can walk around the masseria and see how it used to operate.
At first seeing how beautiful this masseria is and how well maintained i thought it might be a total tourist trap but i was so wrong! Even if you dont have "the tour" - you can walk around it and go down to the oil press its really is quite something. We had a table in the garden but i would imagine that inside during colder months its wonderful also. Inside is beautiful with old white washed stone walls, gigantic fireplaces, huge tables etc. Outside there is a lovely fruit garden and we sat under pergola with candles and mood lighting it was gorgeous.
OK now to the food. As i mentioned earlier, i thought the place was too much of a set-up to be any good. There is no menu and they just started bringing you food and wine. First the antipasti - this is a meat place so the antipasti were all about fava beans, and great vegetables, veal meatballs, home made cheese, potato salads etc.. When you think you cant eat anything any more they ask you if you want primi piati i.e. pasta - they normally have two pastas - we had home made tagliatelle with aubergine and small pasta with red sauce. After they ask you if you want secondi paiti i.e. meat. we just had one to split between us - grilled lamb - delicious. Usually there are a couple of choices. After there is dessert, coffee and liqueur and after you die and go to heaven :) The quality of the food is actually better then in Patu. The service is great (no English), the place is magical and you will never experience anything like this outside of Salento ever. The bill for two of us was €60 Euro including everything i mentioned above.
So i suggest go before it becomes a tourist trap because it probably will.

“Magic”
Reviewed August 20, 2011

This masseria is magical: we had dinner outdoor and the night surroundings where extremely beautiful.
The food is simply delicious (it is on a fix menu though) and the service is very good.
Make sure you book a couple of days in advance as it tends to get fully booked easily especially during July/August.
