Our group of 6 spent a night in the large room with 3 double sized bunks and had a restful night, in spite of the roosters sounding off at 1:30am and throughout the night. We couldn't have asked for a better guide on the Tanama River than Roberto himself, who was amazingly knowledgeable of the local history, wildlife, fauna, and edible plants. Our hike and float, which took approximately 4 hours, was relatively easy with a float through a magnificient rock formation. While they never bothered us, if you have a fear of bats, this trip is not for you. Lunch following the trip was soooo good, consisting of a local style of marinated chicken, with the obligitory beans and rice cooked to perfection.
The accomodations are comfortable but truly rustic, some may even call them nearing primitive, but this was overall a great experience which we'd recommend to anyone seeking a wilderness adventure. Roberto is exceptionally helpful and patient in assisting with directions, at all hours, and is a gracious host. Thank you for a memorable experience.
