“A really nice resort”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

This resort is much nicer than what I expected, and other than the lobby which is shabby and oddly decorated, is really a five-star resort. The restaurants both serve excellent food with great service, better than the food we had in St Barth. The ambience at the restaurants is also top notch, very romantic, crisp and well-designed.

The beach has beautiful blue water and some perfectly placed palm trees, so pretty it feels like a movie set.

Our room was very comfortable, well-decorated, and new. The bathroom was big, open and newly tiled, and felt like a spa.

Aside from the lobby, which really does need a refurb, this is an excellent resort for couples or families, and I would recommend it highly.

We stayed here in February and enjoyed the whole experience. Driver from airport was upset about taking us there because of narrow, steep road. Other taxi driver, whom we called on several times, was fine with driving. Beautiful, secluded location. We just wanted to stay near water and relax...so this was perfect. Very nice grounds. We went for run in morning, had a wonderful breakfast, included, and sat by clear, blue, gorgeous water.
Room was comfortable, clean, and had nice decorations. Patio with chairs also was nice.
Staff are truly friendly and pleasant to interact with. Kudos.
Would definitely come back.

Stayed there back in November. We were with a group of people and the Radisson Blu stay were awesome. I have never had such a relaxing trip and when I can go again I will def be staying there again. With its location you feel like you have your own resort and the rooms were also in great shape. Thank you for the great stay and relaxing vacation.

We just came back this week from a stay at the Radisson Blu and we were so pleased that we plan to come back next year.

I usually stay at 5 star properties--but I thought this hotel was fabulous and really enjoyed it. Here are some pros and cons:

Pros--beautiful location, terrific beach for kids, nice mix of families and couples, nice mix of guests in terms of Americans and non-Americans, complimentary breakfast, terrific staff (especially Claude the bar tender who made my son's trip), and most of all--no issues with chairs at the beach or pool. This is a huge issue at most of the Caribbean resorts and it was an absolute pleasure to not have to worry about this. Note if the hotel is reading this--I did notice that there were people reserving chairs at the beach toward the end of the trip which could be a problem.

Cons-No turn down service, no food and drink service at pool and beach (note--there was some service but in general not offered), I didn't mind but they didn't set up your towels, etc. Again--I was fine with this but this separates it from more luxurious resorts. The location was fine for me but others did have an issue with how far it was from certain things--so I think you need to think about what you want to do.

We took the water taxi to and from the airport which was a terrific treat.

Overall great value-I'm not sure where you can find a resort like this during peak season in the low $300s--please don't add too many extras though and increase the price!

again--loved, loved it and we'll be back...

My husband and I had a wonderful, relaxing time at the Radison Blu in St. Martin. We took the water taxi from the airport and enjoyed seeing the island from the water. We arrived before check in time and were given access to a hospitality suite to change clothes. We were also allowed to check in early once a room was ready and we were upgraded to a marina suite. It was lovely- spacious, well decorated and overlooking the marina. We had delicious food at the on site restaurant and the breakfast buffet was full of delicious choices. The beach area is beautiful with a stunning view, surrounded on three sides by mountains. Beach chairs were plentiful. The pool area was also lovely. We enjoyed a couples massage at the spa that was divine. It was a wonderful escape from the winter weather back home and a place that I will look forward to visiting again.

My wife and I went a few weeks ago for a long weekend from NYC to escape the brutal weather. Numerous nonstop flights to St. Martin make it very easy to get there, it is just a tad farther than Florida but much more predictable weather and a more relaxing and exotic experience. It is a very easy and relaxing long weekend away. We have traveled the Caribbean quite a bit and this has to be one of the best plots of land - it has an open, relaxing feel with a large flat property leading to a wide beach with a very private and relaxing feel. No crowds and no fighting for chairs. The property is surrounded by very green mountains that are not developed, which creates a very beautiful, healthy, exotic and private feel. The hotel also has a great gym and spa. A marina next door is quaint and offers scuba, sailing, boat charters, etc. They upgraded the internet service since we were there 2 years ago and the wifi worked great at the pool and in the room. Breakfast was included and they have an amazing buffet with good coffee, exotic fruits, french pastries, eggs to order, and a variety of breads and cold cuts. The staff were very nice and fluent in French and English. The clientele was a nice mix of european and Americans. The very large pool is perfect for kids on one end and adults on the other. We are neat freaks and often dissatisfied with Caribbean hotels but this property was maintained well and very clean, especially the bathrooms that seemed recently renovated. The hotel offered us each complimentary Evian by our bed each night and had a complimentary Nespresso machine in the room with a variety of caffeinated and decaf capsules. We took a couple day trips to other parts of the Island but always looked forward to coming back to the property and next time we go for a long weekend we will likely just stay at the property and take a boat trip but not bother going elsewhere on the island because this property has it all - beach, pool, restaurant, spa, gym, marina.

Room Tip: Ask to face the sea, or to face the marina, or to face the garden. Ask to be away from ice machine...
