We stayed for a night (Sat) at Mas Ardevol. Very convenient to many good vineyards and in between Falset and Porrera. Next to Ferrer Bobet, which is worthwhile visiting. The property is under development, but that did not affect the warm welcome that we received. The owners, Gemma, Germanil and their son, Ovidi, made sure we felt at home. Ovidi speaks English well and all are very gracious. Our room was quite large w/ a wood burning stove that really warmed the place up! It was late April and we had an unexpected snow storm! The shower had plenty of hot water and pressure, but lacked a place to put soap or shampoo. Bed was very comfortable. We did not eat dinner at the hotel, opting to picnic in our room on various things we bought in Falset. Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. Fresh mushroom tortilla, bread, cheese, butifara, ham, coffee and water. We had a beautiful afternoon with wonderful vista of the valley. My wife had a nice massage (relaxing, not deep-tissue or sports) and the entire time was very memorable. We will return without hesitation!

Room Tip: Unit 2 or 3 are farthest from the main house, about 50 metres distance.

Beautiful countryside, wonderful food and wine, and Gemma is a warm and welcoming hostess. I would recommend a trip to Priorat, and to Mas Ardevol in particular, to anyone visiting Barcelona.

I don't know where to start with Mas Ardevol except that I've been twice since October and am planning another trip this spring. All bed and breakfasts and mountain villas should aspire to be like Mas Ardevol...this is a true gem. And it all begins with the service of cottage owner and head chef, Gemma. I definitely recommend asking her to make you dinner when you are there...her cooking is truly homemade and incredible. Plus, she gets everything from her garden out back, including her own sun-dried tomatoes. The breakfast is also elaborate and delicious. The rooms are very cozy and open up to the valley in and around the Priorat wine region. Gemma will also plan and make calls for you to go on wine tours in the area, which I also highly recommend. Mas Sinen was particularly awesome. I could go on and on...this place is as good as it gets!

We had the pleasure to stay 2 nights in this charming, well-hidden place/space in the Priorat wine area. I can't say enough good things about it and there's certainly nothing negative to note (unless one craves an internet/blackberry connection or wants to pay with a non-Spanish credit card (our tip: take cash!)). It was exactly what I had hoped when booking and our stay at Cal Llop the following weekend paled significantly in comparison. Loved the colors, dinner, wine, breakfast with specially made items, the incredible smelling grape lotion, the dirt road one has to take to off the windy road in the hills to find the little haven (thus my rating on location as you must want to be in booneyland !). Loved it.

I'll preface my comments by noting that I have been happily benefiting from the accurate reviews of fellow travelers placed on TripAdvisor for about four years now, preferring to stay in one of the top three recommended properties whenever feasible. In all that time, this is the first experience that has compelled me to write a review.

Mas Ardevol is a beautifully kept country inn off the main road between the towns of Falset and Porrera, perfect for relaxing and exploring the beauty, wines, and food of Priorat wine country. The property sits on the hillside overlooking the rolling hills and vineyards of the region. The rooms with a lounge a spacious, colorful, and immaculately kept. We stayed in one of the rooms with a lounge and one of the things we loved was the patio chairs outside the front door which overlooked the stunning views of the valley. It was a perfect place for relaxing, taking in the peace and silence of nature mixed only with the chirping of birds, and enjoying a nice bottle of Priorat.

Gemma, the owner and manager of the property, is a gracious and very helpful host. She was very helpful in arranging tours of wineries in the region and in making recommendations for meals in town. Of course, the meals at Mas Ardevol are a treat as well. We had dinner at the property one night and Gemma introduces each delicious dish with such enthusiam, making the food (all prepared with local ingredients) even more enjoyable. We tried a bottle of the house wine with dinner and really enjoyed it (an excellent quality to price value). Breakfast the next day was a generous feast as well, filled with an array of artisanal foods from the region and other typical Catalan dishes.

Mas Ardevol is a very special find that I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy during any visit to Priorat.
