Cant quite make up my mind about this place, although we were unlucky enough to be confined to the busiest two weeks of the year which wasnt the best time to judge it. Jard sur mer is a busy little town which doesnt quite know how to present itself, no nightlife for the young but a bit too hectic and noisy for families. Nice woods around the town and a great place to cycle-there are cycle paths everwhere and tracks trough the woods. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes-something to please everyone. Beaches are crowded and one has to go a little further out for good sandy ones-although they are there. Also plenty of interesting rock formations and rock pools nearby. Plage la mine is very nice and the surf school there was friendly and helpful.
We camped at La Ventouse which was a good well-run campsite not far from the port. However the pleasure port (ie marina) was very noisy with dreadful music that went on until after midnight every night. I wouldnt mind if the music had been good, but it was really kareoke level and very loud, we could hear it loud and clear in our tent-not to be endured night after night. In the end we had enough of no sleep and had to leave. Waether was fantastic hot but not too hot.
