“Great lunch in Le Grand Pressigny”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Would definitely recommend this restaurant if passing through or staying in Le Grand Pressigny. We lunched here with friends, each having the three course menu of the day which was excellent value at 13.50euro a head. The quality was definitely beyond the price. Although we didn't stay in the hotel, it does look great and I would definitely consider staying there in the future. Apparently it reopened fairly recently with new owners who seem to be enthusiastic, on the ball and very dedicated to making it work. Nothing impresses me more than efficiency, and our experience of La Savoie Villars impressed. It has a lovely traditional classic French interior with subtle modern additions that make it a really light and airy place to eat. Go see for yourself and enjoy, we did!

“extremely poor food”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

we arrived towards the end of the lunch period and ordered plat du jour. The waitress was very pleasant and friendly, the starter was ok, the meat of the main meal was raw inside and completely burnt outside despite requesting it as well done after a discussion on the French phrases for how meat is cooked, fruit crumble needs to be cooked, not frightened with a match. altogether a bit of a disaster and not a cheap option, I will visit Grand Pressigny again but never this "restaurant"

“Chaos”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

As a party of 25 we had pre booked a dinner some two months befoe the date of the required, some of the party arrived at 2/3 minutes before the agreed time and were told the tables were not ready and to go away until the tables were ready. Returning ten minutes later , we went to our tables, unfortunately after 20 minutes no aperitifswere served until asked for, although this had been prearranged. The starter was served, but served in a very surly way, withwine order taken, no water provided and no bread served. We asked to order wine, asked for bread and asked for water, this seemed to cause chaos, after two hours, with the estaurant proprietor standing in the middle of the terrace and shouting at the whole assembled gathering, (our party together with other diners not connected with us) some of our party had been served wine, some had not, some had not been served water either, so over two hours with nothing to drink except the aperitif. The organisers of the group dinner were in tears, wanting the main courses and the other orders served, eventually after two and a half hours, half the party walked out, the organisers were physically pushed out and locked out of the restaurant and the gendarmes called. The restaurant had only been open for two months and it was obvious they could not cope with the number of people booked in, and had no idea how to run a restaurant. The food which we did have, being the starter, was very good, but attitude and service the worst I have ever experienced in my life. We had expected a lovelly evening as the group of friends this was to have been our "Gala" evening, od dear what a dissapointment!

“Bad service ruined a lovely evening”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

The food that I managed to consume was absolutely lovely unfortunately it took over an hour to receive this and when we enquiried if it was possible to have some bread and water the staff were very rude. So unfortunate that such a lovely venue is marred by terrible service, Fawlty Towers without the style and humour!
