We stayed in a gite in Grand Pressigny. Chez Grandma was one of the two evening food choices in this quaint little village. The restaurant has two or three set price menus in French outside on a chalk board so you know what to expect when you get in. When we visited, the restaurant was quiet but we felt very welcome. The owners did not speak english as this is a small local village. The quality of food was very good and the two menus that evening were €19.50 and €23.

This is a typical French eatery in a small village in rural France. The food is better than you get at home, but marginally. Just enough consistency across our table to be satisfied. Prices are slightly high though.

We guessed that the chef was feeling lazy as there were very few in the night we were eating (a Sunday) - it is Autumn. But some of our food was so hot we suspected it had been microwaved!

Nice enough experience, with good service and friendly staff, Veggies not catered for and some of the fish dishes are not to be recommended.

A good little local find with about four menus to choose from to suit all budgets, but all are pretty reasonable. Very limited and uninspiring choices for vegetarians - when I asked if there was anything for a non meat and fish eater, the response was a rather taciturn 'non'. Disappointing, and while the chevre starter was lovely, the plate of potato, tomato and rice was dull.

That said, my partner thoroughly enjoyed his beef and sauce, which was excellent!
