“Excellent!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

We happened to 'fall' on this place on a very cold Sunday lunctime! The restaurant was warm and friendly so we decided that this was the place for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. A complimentary glass of Cava. Delicious fresh fish. Delicious white wine. It was a bit pricey but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be visiting again...

“Secluded, traditional, Catalonia excellence”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Llanca is a place you have to want to go. Anyone who's arrived knows why its worth going, and staying. Obviosuly a popular Spanish motor baot mooring harbour, the natrual cove makes it deliciously secluded. Bravo to the township for maintaing tourist development to an acceptable level. Lllanca was quiet on this peaceful mid Oct afternoon. Needing a relaxing bite Els Pescadors was this and more, despite our late arrival. A home made Paella that was worth the 15min wait, was complemented by a nice local wine. This is a fresh, light place, practically at the end of the road right on the harbour, so Seagulls and waves rock your spirit. The food was delicious, obviosuly made to order, piping hot and severely fresh. Lively strong characetres either fishermen or were, animated the bar with the raucous Catalonya laughs. A century away from city bustle, the town and its lead resaturant are a jewel, at least when the toutists aren't here.

“Excellent sea food”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

Last weekend all my family and me went to Costa Brava. We spent some days in LLança and we wanted to dinner some fresh fish, so we asked. Some people told us the restaurant Els Pescadors. We ate some fish and another seafood like (prawns, mussels, anchovies) and all was excellent including the staff. The waiters were very kind and helped us at all times to choose what to eat.
The relation between the price and food was good and correct, because if you eat something that is great you have to pay some for it.
In conclusion all of us recommend it to you

“Too expensive and greasy”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We visited the Costa Brava this past weekend and stayed in Llanca. Let me warn you there is no information or tourist friendly guides about Llanca and what to do once you are there. There was supposed to be a Michelin Star Restaurant in Llanca but was closed so we asked for the alternative and were told that this restaurant would be a close second. What a mistake! The menus looked like they had interesting stuff and even included anchovies and who would not want to eat fresh anchovies at the Costa Brava? Surprise: anchovies came straight from a can more salty than salt. We were told that there were still some fresh fish and in fact had to choose between the fresh fish because there weren't sufficient quantities of each. Wrong again the fish and it didn't really matter what it was, was overcooked and greasy slopped over overcooked greasy potatoes that have seen better days and came directly from the fridge where they were sitting for a while ready to be served to the next unsuspecting tourist. Horrible! The worst part was yet to come when we asked for the bill it was 350Euros for four adults and two kids who didn't have fish and just ate seafood pastas that were at best okay. Ouch! Don't trust the friendly lady that comes over and acts like a mama and promises only fresh food. Moreover immediately ask her what the cost of the supposed fresh fish is, because if you don't then she's going to stick it to you! Be extra careful and watch out or just don't eat here at all you and your wallet will be better off!

“Persistently Admirable Performance - Excellent Chef”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

We have first visited Llanca more than thirty years go. At that time, Llanca was a little harbour for fishing boats with nothing much else. El Pescadors had been a very modest, family run restaurant then, catering to the occasional tourist as well as to the local community, serving hearty fish casseroles and good local sea food prepared in a simple, "mamma-type" fashion.

What a difference today! About ten years ago, we had moved our boat from the French Riviera to Llanca - and have found completely different Els Pescadors in the location of the former simple eatery. It is still family run but the Chef, son of the original owner of the restaurant, returned from his apprenticeship and subsequent practice with several world-top Chefs in prestigious restaurants abroad - and changed the little family run eatery into a very serious fish restaurant, on par with the best restaurants nestling over the coast of Costa Brava.

Sea food, in many of its modalities, is prepared to perfection - but what is surprising is the perfect, if small, range of dishes "from the terra", such as magnificently rendered pigeon, slowly cooked beef etc.

Service is perfectly matched to the type of a restaurant Els Pescadors became - very respectful but also friendly, where two very good local waiters are helped by several pretty helpers from Slovakia, always willing to fulfil even occasionally unreasonable wishes of some foreign diners.

Of course, the original "Padre" of the establishment and his daughter, the friendly, cordial, inimitable Maria-Angeles, are often warmly welcoming frequent guests like family members, making everyone to feel instantly "at home".

Do not miss the opportunity of enjoying the visit to Els Pescadors if your meandering over the lovely Costa Brava brings you close to Llanca. Strongly recommended.
