“Tickets for next year booked already!”

It is very hard to say anything bad about this experience. What a wonderful circuit! Whether you decide to travel to the circuit by train or by coach both options are cost effective and extremely well organised. Even on race day, we were only in the queue for the coach home for 20 minutes, max. ( I liked the train myself, but the coach does drop you MUCH closer to the track, which avoids the 30 minute walk)

If you get a 3 day ticket do make use of the fact that its "roaming" for the Practice sessions. Although you get a great sense of speed from seats on the main grandstand, there are so many great views to be had. Stand A is worth a look as is Stand C, in the slower section of the track.

Having read other reviews we took our own food and booze. I'm glad we did. You'd spend a small fortune if you purchased all your food and drink from the circuit. (beware - you can't take glass or cans in. We opted for cartons of wine)

There is a very big (to be expected) Alonso/Ferrari following at the track, but lots of other European countries were well represented. The feel was very welcoming. It was just a great place to be.

If you are reading this considering next years race (assuming its confirmed at Catalunya), don't hesitate, just buy your tickets now. An added bonus to consider is that race weekend tickets get you free entry to testing (again assuming it takes place at Catalunya). A decent ticket might cost you £200, but that's a bargain for 4 days testing and 3 days over the race weekend, surely .. and if that's too steep, General Admission tickets are a lot less expensive. GA looked great for soaking up the atmosphere. Just remember to get there early on race day. 10am should do it ..

Book it now. Enjoy.

Great circuit. Tickets were not as cheap as Nurburgring but the grandstand is better and you can use cash to get food, drinks and merchandise. Although tickets are still better value than Silverstone, of course.

We caught the Segales bus from city centre for €9 per person return. It was an easy journey and the bus was clean. The queue to get on the bus back was long but there was no pushing.

Bring your own food and drinks if you can. A magnum ice cream was €4, ouch!

The two of us visited the F1 for 4 days, Stayed in BARCELONA,CAUGHT A BUS TO CIRCUIT ONLY 11 EURO A DAY Return to city, 4 day pass at circuit (catalunya)170 Euro in a grandstand.
Circuit price for 4 days in a grandstand cheaper than 1 day on the grass at Silverstone. The views overlooking the finishing straight in a grandstand were great. Drinks and food a bit expensive,(take you own)
Plenty to do and see, weather great, well worth it. Would love to go next year. Advise not to catch train 1 to 2 mile hill to walk up at circuit. We got a 4 star hotel near the beach for 7 days and return flights all for £350.00.so about £500 each and spend 3 days touring Barcelona. GREAT DEAL.

“Spanish Grand Prix”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

Great atmosphere & we were surprised at how much gradient the circuit has. Not a great variety of food but this is fairly typical of motor racing circuits. Toilets were a bit hit and miss, but staff were doing their level best to keep them clean and well stocked. Bit of a nightmare getting out after the race but that too is fairly typical at motorsport venues.

“A well organised F1 experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

I have just returned from the Barcelona Grand Prix where although the result was disappointing (I'm a Lewis fan!), the experience itself was great.

On the Thursday pit walk we used the train. You need to take the train from Passeig de Gracia to Montmelo and then it literally is a 30 minute walk to get to the track! I would recommend trying to get a taxi from outside the station or there is a shuttle a short walk into the town which costs 2 euros and it takes you to about 10 minutes outside the circuit entrance.

For qualifying and race day we traveled via the Sagales coaches and I would say this is definitely the best option. Tickets cost 9 euros per person for a round trip and the coaches are very constant and run from early in the morning (7.30am) to about 12.30pm going there and then the return journeys start from about 1pm till about 6pm. There is a slight queue in the mornings however you can buy all your tickets in one go so that you don't have to queue for tickets each day. The coaches take you from Barcelona city center to the entrance of the circuit and it is a very comfortable journey. On race day the queue for the coaches back was long but they are constantly loading up coaches and sending them on so you're probably looking at about an hour wait maximum.

Facilities in the circuit are good, there are plenty of food options but beware everything is very expensive! A large beer is 11 euros and a sandwich is about 5 euros. There are plenty of toilet facilities and they were as clean as can be expected.

We watched from stand L which had fantastic views but there was no cover so do remember to take sunscreen and wear a hat as it does get very hot!

Overall I'd say that the Barcelona grand prix was a great experience and one I would definitely look at doing again in the future.
