We enjoyed four wonderfully relaxing nights with the Jeanson family whose hospitality made us feel as if we, too shared their family name. Each day began with a delicious breakfast beautifully presented by Madame Jeanson and her son and ended comfortably ensconced on the sofa in front of the fire. Our room provided stunning views as well as a quiet and restful night of sleep. Madame Jeanson and her son could not have been nicer, helping us with restaurants, directions and language. She was even kind enough to arrange the mailing of a package home for us. She is the perfect hostess and we definitely look forward to a return.

Room Tip: Only two rooms are available but both are wonderful, though the old wooden floors are just a bit noisy!

We stayed for one night on our return from a week in the Dordogne and were delighted by the welcome we received and the accommodation. After tea in the garden we said we would take a walk in the village and were provided with a useful leaflet giving details of a circular walk taking in all aspects of the very attractive Fontaine-sous-Juoy. Our hostess, Aude, had suggested dinner at Le Vol au Vent in Chambray (2km away) and had made a reservation in our name. This proved to be an excellent choice - a beautifully presented meal with a good choice of wines considerately served - good value at about £30 per person. Back at Clos de Mondetour, we slept well and in the morning enjoyed a relaxed breakfast in the salon, chatting with 2 or 3 other guests. We felt that we'd had a good experience at Clos de Mondetour and would certainly try to stay there again when next in the area. It was a nice way to end our holiday

Room Tip: Our room, in what may have originally been a farm or agricultural building (beautifully-restored) overlooked the very attractive walled garden

We had a perfect couple of days at Clos de Mondetour. The house is absolutely stunning and made us want to move to France permanently - we drove past it once as couldn't believe that could be our B&B! In a really peaceful location, lovely surroundings. We stayed in the green room which is a bright, sunny toom with beautiful french style decor. There is also a living area for guests which is a nice touch, and breakfast was delicious. We walked to a local restaurant (Les Trois Etangs) which served really good quality, well presented food (quite pricey but worth it), and had a picnic in the garden another night with local cheese and wine. Aude is a great host, really friendly and welcoming and always on hand to offer tips about eating out and things to do in the area. We enjoyed a visit to Monet's garden in Giverny which is spectacular (go first or last thing though as it was very busy mid morning with coach loads of tours and school trips), a trip to the ruined chateau at Les Andelys which has stunning views, and a lovely lunch by the Seine in the beautiful village la roche guyon.

Would love to go back ...

Room Tip: We loved the green room, beautiful french decor with views across the garden to the front and the meadow from the bathroom at the back

We stopped here for one night on our way back to the airport from Caen. I wish we could have stayed longer. The property is beautifully restored and maintained and our room, the red room, was bright, large and sunny as it occupied one end of the house on the second floor. The windows are large and the room has three exposures if you count the bathroom view. The two rooms at this end of the house were purpose designed to be b&b rooms and they share a sitting / dining room on the ground floor. All are exquisitely decorated. For two couples or a family occupying both rooms this allows for privacy and relaxation as it all feels like a small cottage attached to the bigger house. Aude, the owner is charming and friendly without being intrusive. The chocolate lab, Gaston, was also charming and welcoming and happy to play with us in the large walled garden.

Room Tip: The red room is bright, large and quiet. A

We spent two pleasant days at the Clos de Mondetour last week. The room was large and immaculately clean, the breakfast very good. There is a good restaurant nearby, Les Trois Etangs, which is convenient for dinner. The surroundings are pretty, in the river Eure valley, and you can go a little farther to the Seine, where there are a couple of chateaux on its higher right bank.
