Tyne Cot Cemetery is the largest WWI Commonwealth cemetery. The sheer magnitude of the cemetery is overwhelming. The number of soldiers burried here, and the number of names on the wall of the missing combine to make the reality and futility of war real. At the same time, the cemetery is beautiful. The time and care that has gone into honouring those who have been lost is moving. There is a lot to learn from the visitor centre, and wandering the grounds gives a much needed reminder of the cost of war.
