We were a group of four women on a friends snorkel trip. We were in awe of the glimpses of aqua blue water that we could see as we first arrived on the island. We hailed a cab from the airport and the driver called George the owner from the resort for a pick up. He promptly met us in his boat at the local market dock and took us across the bay to our new home for the next few nights but not before showing us 'the mystery cave' for future snorkeling. We then met Gill his wife and were given all of the resort information. The view from our rooms was stunning!!! The rooms are basic but have everything you need.
We enjoyed fresh grilled chicken and lobster from the owners the the first night and continued to enjoy all that the island offered during out stay. Kayaking to a local hang out was a short distance away- "Chat and Chill" You could get fresh conch salad and feed and pet the sting rays, there was hiking on the island, snorkeling the rocks behind the rooms (yes the Atlantic side was very calm!!) and we saw schools of blue tang and surgeon fish, octopus, sting rays, squirrel fish, trigger fish, etc. We rented a boat from Minns and went snorkeling at the various reefs in Elizabeth Harbor, and took the all day trip to see the swimming pigs, iguanas, and snorkel at Thunderbolt grotto. We enjoyed the hospitality of Gill and George and felt that they were very accommodating to any requests we had- especially keeping our water bottles filled with water and ice! The food at the resort is superb! We loved the remoteness of the location and liked the peacefulness of having the beach to ourselves. Bring spray- the no-seeums are there especially at dusk.
