What a lovely cottage. We stayed here for a couple of nights. This gorgeous cottage has everything you need. Beautiful fluffy towels, spotless clean bedding, warm and toastly and all the appliances you will need. A perfect location for walks, amazing scenery and very friendly people. Only a few miles from Dumfries so there is something for everyone. The local cafe has delicious food and wonderful friendly service. My partner and I will definately stay in this fabulous cottage again. A huge thank you to Allan and Suzanne for the delicious suprise cake that was waiting for us.
I will definately reccommend this fabulous cottage to all my friends.

A wonderfully cosy cottage that was spotless. It had everything that was needed for our few days away including relaxing lounge, lovely bedroom, super wet-room as well as a delicious homemade cake to welcome us. Although we didn't use them there were wii and playstation games, board games, dvds and books available The owner, Allan, responded immediately to any e-mails and has also left a wealth of local information in the cottage including local maps and walks which we took full advantage of. A bus stops outside the cottage and we used it to go into Dumfries just 15 minutes away. The local shop across the road was also very handy for essentials. All in all a lovely place to stay in a beautiful area.

“Five star standard and wonderful value for money”

This cottage has everything you could possibly need - forget having to buy small quantities of this and that - tea, coffee, milk, cleaning products, cooking oil etc - it's all there!! Outside there is a lovely garden, again equipped with outdoor furniture and barbecue which would more than just meet the basic requirements. There are pretty walks and the village has a marvellous cafe at the abbey. Ideal for trips round this area but you really do need a car unless you're prepared to wait up to two hours for public transport from some areas. There is, however one fairly regular bus service which travels between Dumfries and Southerness. And the best surprise is the huge cake left by the owners upon your arrival!

“excellent wee cottage”

We stayed in Abbey Green in New Abbey for five nights. A very pretty place with plenty to see and do. Dumfries and Galloway as a whole is well worth a visit. Scenery, castles, woodland, walks, cycling, good places to eat. Most of all Abbey Green was a great choice of place to stay.Equipped to the hilt and very comfortable indeed. We hope to go back in the future.

“Nice location,lovely cottage, amazing cake!”
Reviewed September 3, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed here for a week in August. The booking process was quick and easy with all information about the cottage, directions etc being e mailed well in advance of the holiday. The cottage is quaint, spotless and beautifully furnished. Beds are comfortable, loved the remote control skylight in the double room! The garden is HUGE, private and well maintained.

We found a huge victoria sponge with a large layer of fresh cream, raspberries and blueberries in the fridge, which was a kind and welcoming gesture.

The village itself is lovely, there is a small friendly newsagent/shop across the road and sweetheart abbey is a very short stroll away. Abbey cottage tea rooms, next door to the abbey are well worth a visit, the food is delicious. They have a recipe book to buy so that you can re-create their dishes and cakes when you are back home!

We would stay again if visiting the area.
