Pros:
====
1. Location is good. Right on the main road
2. Rooms are good with balcony view (if garden/lawn facing)
3. Lots of play area for the kids
4. Pick and drop facility from hotel to sea side
5. Room service is good

Cons:
=====
1. Nothing complementary (only toilet soap and shampoo strips like beggars)
2. Extra 2% charge on credit card payments. Nowadays even the street side shops do not charge extra on card payments but this hotel does.
3. Foods over-priced. All veg items tastes the same. Fish items are untouchables due to their price range.
4. The front office looks like an old age home. Needs more young and smiling faces there.

Better stay at Digha or Mandarmani and take a half day trip to Shankarpur. There's nothing to see here except the sea beach. So it's not worth paying a bomb for this hotel stay if your are traveling with family and having plans for sight seeing.

Happy holidays

A cosy hotel on the beach town of Shankarpur. Though not on the beach the hotel provides round the clock shuttle service to the beach and has a dedicated corner for its guests. The almost virgin beach is a quiet and clean beach. Bathing in the sea is fun. The hotel rooms are basic but good and food is good. The service staff is very caring. There is a well maintained garden for the guests. All in all a good place to destress.

We (family of 3) stayed at Nest on 22-23rd November 2017, and I think this stay would be memorable for all the wrong reasons. So where do I start? We were allocated a room on the first floor of the hotel. Soon we found out the geyser connection in the bathroom was faulty - you could feel a mild shock if you touched the pipes or the taps connected to it. We didn't want to risk our lives and keep using it. We informed the authorities who promised to send an electrician within an hour, who in reality never arrived during the entire duration of our stay. We had in take bath in cold water in Nov end. Upon reminding them the second time, they sent a housekeeping staff who came, switched on the tap, ran the water and denied that there was any problem and left. But this was only the start of problems. We went to the in-house restaurant. The Pabda fish we ordered was stale, which was apparent both its taste and its stench. This too the waiter refused to agree upon. After one of us shouted, he half-heartedly took the dish away and said he would replace. That was taking so long that we eventually left in disgust. Rs. 300 for a piece of fish down the drain. To add to our disappointment, loud music started playing somewhere around 5 pm. More than the loudness, the vibration of the beats made the floor shake almost. Upon inquiry, we got to know that there is a corporate party scheduled for the night, and this is just a rehearsal/testing that is going on now. We asked how long that would go on, they said 10 in the night. Little did we know that they were lying. It continued till midnight, right in the ground floor hall, so loud that we could hardly talk in our room in the first floor. I wonder what kind of infrastructure this hotel has in terms of acoustic setup which is essential for hosting parties of this scale. Even more disappointing was their response throughout. Their stand was clear- corporate bookings are more important to us than individual bookings, so we can't help this. Nice business model and ethics, I must say! It is an understatement if I say I am never going back here.

Room tip: Don't book any room here

One of our recent stay was at Nest.. indeed a nest for travellers... beautiful property... and above all ambience was great.. so kids friendly.. managed well..kitchen was equally good.. tasty food.. the service to the private beach was by a jeep which was equally very professional..overall a great stay we had..the garden facing rooms are always a first choice though...
