While some have previously mentioned that the rooms are a bit dated they are extremely clean. Besides who spends to much time in the room when there is so much to do outside. The staff is what makes this resort so great. I can not even start to tell you how friendly everyone is. The beach is very nice and very quiet. The dive shop on site is great (Devotion 2 Ocean) and their staff is just as great as the rest of the resort. As a dive master myself I would not hesitate to recommend this operation just ask for Frankie Ocean. The buffet may not be the largest but the food is very good. Don't be surprised that the grass is not green as this is the arid part of the island but the grounds are great non the less. I would return without hesitation.

This is my second time visiting Grenadian By Rex Resort. First with my Mother two years ago & now with my husband. Simply because it meets many of our main Get Away requirements!
Beautiful picturesque swimming beach, great for couples or families with children & very modern sunbathing pool area with bar & restaurant over looking the Caribbean sea (striking sunsets!) great for swimming & lengths. Very Good healthy meals, very clean & comfortable rooms, warm staff & good service...and very reasonable price point.

Grenada is the Island of Spice & there is so much to see & do. We love it because as a tourist we like to connect culture with our Island of choice...Grenadian Rex & Grenadians embraces you with love & their connection to their culture & invite you to explore their picturesque Spotless untouched Island!

Some of the guests took a trip to the Rain forest & captured unbelievable moments with the wild monkeys! Grenadian monkeys are not camera shy & took lots of pictures with the guest...with the help of a bunch of sweet bananas!
The strong points: Beautiful long picturesque swimming beach. Great get away with no hassles.
The weak points: More evening entertainment., However, we were so full after each delicious meal & tired after a full day. Also, it would be nice if men could wear dress shirts without collars & dress shorts since it is a very relaxed resort!

Room Tip: We love the Beach Front Rooms ...just steps away from the sand & beach!

We visited Grenada for 2 weeks at the beginning of May 2014. Our stay at the Grenadian by Rex was very relaxing. There were only about 140 people the first week we stayed there and about 80 people the second week. The grounds are lovely and the pool area is very nice. The beach front rooms are fantastic. However, we do not recommend the hillside view rooms, they are very second rate and you are literally looking at a hillside from your balcony window. The food is boring but edible. If you would like to enjoy a glass of wine while eating dinner we recommend you get your glass of wine at the bar before going in for dinner. The maintenance staff is very efficient. To be able to open the sliding glass door in our room we both had to take a hold of it and pull. We asked the hotel staff to fix it and withing 1/2 an hour the entire door was replaced! There is a great restaurant a short walk down the beach called The Aquarium and on Grand Anse beach everyone should check out the restaurant Umbrellas. We also recommend taking the local buses into Grand Anse or St. George's they are much cheaper than a taxi and the ride itself can be quite an adventure. One more thing: If you have foot problems or problems walking a far distance then the Rex resort is probably not for you. For that matter Grenada itself is probably not a good choice as it is very hilly, some parts remind me of San Fransisco, and therefore a bit difficult to get around without being in some pain.

Room Tip: Choose beach front. They are the best

Travelled as a couple from May 26th to June 2nd. An amazing place with a wonderful staff. Special thanks to Arlene March (general manager), Coleman Redhead (event manager), Kimball Etienne (restaurant manager), Leslie Laragne (a very special lady), and the whole staff who made us feel very welcome!

The beach was beautiful, tranquil, and peaceful. A little piece of heaven :-)

The food was delicious, plentiful, and tasted great.

I would definitively come back to this resort in the future in order to re-live this experience :-)

May 26- June 2, 2014.Had a wonderful relaxing vacation. The hotel was less than 30% occupied, so you literally had the place to yourself. Female manager and stingly managed, nothing in over abundance. While I enjoyed the hotel, beach, weather, food and wonderful staff, here are the pros and cons.
Pros: within 5 minutes of the airport so after a long flight this is pleasant.
- 20 minutes to the Capital- St Georges
- Manager is very visable and approachable.
- Awesome 'meet the manager' evening
- Clean resort, friendly and warm staff who works tirelessly.
- Food, very good. Beef, pork, lamb, fish every day and at least 2 local dishes @ lunch time.
- Front desk called to find out how's everything and if there is anything they can do to make your stay enjoyable. Nice touch
Beds are firm: asked for a foam topper and same was delivered the same day.
- Lots of fresh fruits daily (cut-up) with the exception of bananas (called figs in Grenada). It would be nice to have whole mangoes and smaller fruits that you can take to the beach. Understand the need to cut up melons, pineapples, papayas etc.
- You have to try the ice-cream; nutmeg, coconut and rum & raisin are my favourites.

Cons: No swim up bar. The bar is near by but you have to get out of the pool.
-2 pools; 1 Adult, 1 very small children. (you can literally say there is 1 pool. For me, no big deal as I do prefer the emerald blue salt water.
- No complementary A' La carte. Even though the chinese is a surcharge it was not open for the week we were there.
- No beer, pop, juice or water in the fridge (room)
- There is ice cream in the evenings, but it's not self serve. You ask and they tell you the flavours available; served to you.
- Lack of entertainment- knew this prior to my visit. Management can at least have movie night, karaoke, swimming voleyball etc.
- Only oceanview rooms have coffee and ther is no food between 2PM-4PM. We arrived @ 1:30 and did not realize this so after leasurely unpacking, shower etc. the Lunch restuarant was closed (2:30PM) and was told that there will tea, sandwitches, cake and cookies @ 4;00 PM.
- Toiletries are not restocked daily. Had to call front desk on day 3 to request replenishment.

During the 'meet the manager' evening I mentioned both the pros and cons.

TIPS- lots to see and do in Grenada. We did not do any organized tours as the Island is very safe and easy to travel by local bus. Fare from Rex to St George's $10 EC dollars ($3.75 US) mostexpensive trip on the Island. From St. George's to Sauters; EC$6.50, to Grenville EC$6.00, every other place appx. EC$2.50.
The spices are simply the best quality you can find. Prices in Grenville was better than in St. George's as they reflect cruise ship passangers. I paid EC$11.00/ per poung for nutmeg in Grenville, from the Export 'board' is located 2 minutes walk from the open market. Min purchase 1 lb. The drinking water in Grenada is very good, so the resort does not provide bottled water. If you need, then buy your bottled water from the grocery store as it cost EC$8.50 for a 1 litre bottle.
If you ask anyone of the ground staff (green shirt staff) for young cocunuts or any other ripe fruits on the property they will pick it for you. Had cocunuts almost everyday depending on whether the staff was nearby.
Ther is a fish 'Friday' which is good, but if you add the transportation from this Hotel then it's not value for your money as there is fresh fish everyday @ the Rex. If it's for the experience the value is meaningless.
If you plan to visit the Seven Sister's fall, I recommend going by Taxi as it's a long walk after the bus stop. We went as a 2 couples so the cost was shared.
Please do tip as the staff appreciates it, but does not look forward to being tipped. Don't know whether it a European thing but I have not seen anyone fron UK tipping. Had dinner with a couple from the UK and I did the tipping. NOTE: it's not a criticism, only an observation. For me, it's more blessed to give so I gave away generously and the smiles on the recipient's faces was worth more than the cost for my vacation

Room Tip: Large resort, so if you are physically challenged stay on the ground level close to the amenities
