“Stylish, still cosy restaurant - good food and fantastic wine”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

We were looking for an authentic Savoyard dinner - well we got it here: coal heated portable iron device melting the cheese for the raclette served with fabulous charcuterie, and the wine... oh that wine ...:):) It's not the cheapest restaurant around, but (especially coming from Switzerland I must say) it was very well worth the price :)

“Good Raclette, slightly pricey.”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

We booked ahead. 7 people enjoyed either raclette or braserade. Raclette was authentic, 1/4 wheel with charcoal burning stove to melt the cheese, plenty of charcuterie and potatoes to top with the freshly melted cheese. The steak cooked on the hot stove at the table by the patrons was equally as good. It is a lovely mountain meal after a hard day of skiing. Super for a large group. WIne selection was good. Excellent desserts etc.

“least impressive of four restaurants visited”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

The restaurant is pleasant (impossible not to scrape noisely heavy chairs on the wooden floor) Other diners enjoyed raclette , steak tartare , snails etc , hot-stone cooking etc and they were best suited to this restaurant. For our family - it was restrictive in choice and by far the most expensive visited. My wife and I had a variation on rack of lamb with a herb crust which was well cooked and tasty but a bit heavy going. Son (age 10) had kids beef frites - "well cooked but crusty on outside" Daughter had a steak with bearnaise sauce (specially prepared gluten-free) tasty but very pricey !

We are sorry about the noice in the restaurant room and we work on it. We offer to our guests only fresh food it's why it's little bit more expensible than others restaurants in Argentière. We will happy to see you again in our restaurant. Have a nice day ! Marine

“expensive bill for poor food”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

It is expensive and the food is not good, in addition service is basic if not poor. I feel I have been ripped off! Only plus would be a pleasant decoration, but this is only to attract you in. I definately won't go back there to confirm this first impression.

“Always a favorite - beware of prices which have risen steeply over past couple of years”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

The Dahu is always a family favorite. We've been going there for years. Ownership has changed of course and it's no longer family run. It's still very good although prices have risen fairly dramatically over the past few years. Still the best place to come for traditional mountain food - raclette or fondu, or pierrade. They bring these ancient looking stoves with burning charcoal to your table and you can do you cook your meat to perfection (pierrade) or melt your cheese to your liking (raclette). Whatever you do,me sure to leave some space for the tarte aux myrtilles at the end. Be sure to book as it can be quite busy - there are usually two services one around 7pm and the other around 8:30pm. It's very welcoming if you have kids, though it's a restaurant for all ages.
