Description: La Remise is a "must-try" restaurant in Chamonix Valley with an absolutely fantastic view on the Mont-Blanc, the atmosphere is lively and the wine selection authentic. The concept at La Remise comprises of classical French techniques paired with influences from the current modern British gastronomic movement whilst paying respect to the wonderful regional products. Restaurant highlight: the Chef in partnership with a local producer are dry aging a selection of high quality beef on site. To experience an extraordinary quality of meat in both taste and texture book early to avoid disappointment (Meat dry aged for a minimum of 30 days) - a unique experience by La Remise!

What makes skiing in France so much more fun than any other place? Aside from the amazing slopes (in this case, Mt Mont-Blanc), you get to enjoy a delicious meal at places like this after a hard day on the slopes.

I had the gazpacho and black blood goblets with an excellent, while my wife had the river fish. The black blood goblets tasted like kidney, but the fish was less than succulent. That's not the cook's fault, but the fish was simply so lacking in texture than even the culinary wizardry of French cooking could save it. The yogurt dessert was also not to our liking

Nonetheless, those are small quibbles. Whereas in the States or in Whistler you might get a burger or steak, in Mont-Blanc you get amazing and classy food for half the price and 10 times the quality. That alone should make you choose Mont-Blanc over Zermatt and Matterhorn. Better yet, if you are dying for a Swiss fondue, it is only a 15km drive across the Swiss border for the best Valaisanne fondue your belly can handle!

Good quality products and refined presentation

Quality dishes (small portions) for children!!
That is very nice (I am tired of restaurants that offer only nuggets and pasta to children)

A couple of kilometers away from the village of Argentière

La Remise is a tad out of the way if you're staying in downtown Chamonix-Mont Blanc, but there are actually hourly trains each way for the intrepid. You should use the La Joux stop, which is a "request" stop on the Chamonix - Martigny line but you need to eat early in that case as the last train from La Joux back to Chamonix is at 9:04 pm.

We had a delightful dinner with friends who live nearby. Surprisingly excellent Lyons style cuisine for a nice out of the way venue.

La Remise was located ca. 2 km away from the village of Argentiere and we took a bus from the hotel. We selected the menu with fish as a main food and were more than happy. Excellent food, family like athmosphere and a large fine selection of wines. Premises were historical but newly renovated.

As an additional bonus we got ride back to the hotel by the owner of the restaurant.
