Reviewed July 1, 2013

Booking was nightmare, ask to wait 30 minutes after reporting at booking time, we went as couple so we have to wait for another big group, the service is bad, crockery is bad and food dont taste any good. Would never go again,

“Dont be surprised if you are dissapointed!!!!”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

One of the worst restraunts I have entered in 41 years. Rude ignorant staff, plastic tables and chairs and chefs that had never been to Japan. I suggest paying a little bit more and going soomewhere a milion times better. Go at your peril!!!

“Worthy of a night out - BBQ Teppenyaki”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

Dear Reader,

Went to this restaurant in May 2013 for a Birthday event.

The event was booked by a family member of the person who's birthday we were attending, so I am not able to give you a review on the booking service, but from hearsay it went easily and the staff were good.

First off, I must start by giving a WARNING for this review - DO NOT WEAR CLOTHES THAT YOU WISH TO GET RUINED (like white clothes or expensive dresses etc) - The reason will be explained later.

Parking for the restaurant - was sort of easy if you are willing to pay the $1.10 an hour in the public parking lot - if you use Google maps you will see there is parking lot across the road behind the park royal hotel (AKA Crowne Plaza )(marked as lot 102 on Google maps)

The restaurant is located up stairs, and upon first glances, is not overly impressive or clean, but do NOT let that distract you, as it distracted me - it be came apparent as to the "why", as the evening progressed.

The whole evening took about 2ish hours

We were sat down at a semi circle area around a hot plate, and under a giant cooking vent

The $37pp dinner option was selected from the menu for our party which included, prawns, scallop, beef, chick, rice, egg, ice cream and soup.

I have deliberately not included in this review what happened as they served as it will ruin your experience but note the following:

Flames, dancing seasoning grinders, flying food, screaming patrons, and slippery floors await you - be prepared.

The restaurant has a birthday special that you should ask about (thus one of the reasons this place was selected)

On a personal note: there were 2 cooks, one did the presentation with what appeared to be excitement and zeal - the other cook, did his job, but appeared to be distracted and in a rush to complete our table and move on - but i suppose that even entertainers have real lives that distract them from time to time...- it did not affect his performance as such - its just gave the feeling of being rushed.

* The food was well cooked - and cooked cleanly - and was very delicious
(please note the difference between "cooked cleanly" and my earlier statement of "overly impressive or clean")
* Reasonable pricing
* Good location - sort of.

* No real issues - but ordering drinks were slightly awkward as I think the restaurant were short staffed this night.
* abrupt ending to the presentation

In summary:
* Do go to this restaurant.
* Do not expect 5 star service
* Do not wear your best cloths.
* The restaurant is for all types of people - couples, family, friends, solo - it is not recommended for business dinners
