“You get what you pay for”

Price was reasonable for what we got. Staff were very friendly and had no problem fixing a problem we had. Rooms were what we expected for the price. Location was good for access to a wide range of Parramatta's eating houses so we didn't use the restaurant. Didn't really use the rest of the hotel (restaurant and swimming pool). Car parking and access from main road was good. Air conditioner on high made a bit of noise but...

Room Tip: Ours overlooked the street and was a little nosy but no problem. 7th floor

We had a weekend package deal and it was great value for money, the motel although showing its age had comfortable functional rooms with everthing that was required for a pleasantstay. Rooms are not that well sound proofed and at times (it was Saturday Night) you could clearly hear noise from the street below and in the corridors. Bathroom could have been cleaned a little better (small amount of hair from previous guests in bath) and is the item most in need of a renovation. Reatuarant dinner meal was average and a little expensive but we had a $30 voucher included with the package, breakfast was as good as any other place we have stayed. Undercover parking was included in our deal and our large vehicle (Toyota Landcruiser) was able to be accomodated. Service from all the staff was exceptional, and in some part made up for other deficiencies.

The staff were warm and friendly both on checking in and out and at the restaurant as well (thank you Sophie and Irene). However, that's about all the good things I can say about the Sebel. Rooms are OK but the airconditioning is very noisy and outdated and forget the restaurant, meals are overpriced and came to the table nearly cold.

This is a price point hotel clearly aimed at the travelling businessman and budget conferences. The hotel seems generally tired and dated that and I felt lacking in every department. As someone previously wrote it’s all downhill once you leave the reception. The elevators buzz and rattle their way from top to bottom and not one of the three had a full set of functioning buttons.

My King room on level 7 was fit for very much less. Upon entry there was an overwhelming wet and musty odour and poor lighting to contend with. The air-conditioner was noisy and the control unit was out-dated, damaged and with no labelling it was a guessing game to get it to function at all. The wet smell came via a leaking shower base with water finding its way to the carpet near the bathroom door and damp in a 40cm radius at that point. The door frame was rusty at that point and clearly visible that repair was needed. The shower wasn’t clean and a fair amount of mould was visible at several points. The bed was decent enough however all 3 nights I was woken by delivery trucks doing drop-offs to the service entry in the very early (2-3am) hours.

I ate in the restaurant for the first night, entrees and mains came within minutes of each other after an hour from ordering. Room service wasn’t any better, the first occasion saw my order completely missed and the following night an incorrect meal and drink delivered. The breakfast buffet was equally disappointing as the evening meals with powdered eggs and fake bacon in abundance.

Reception and bar staff we’re polite and helpful but the same can’t be said for the restaurant. The service manager, a younger gentleman was literally power walking the entire time I sat for service which gave an uneasy feel to dining. Overall I don’t feel it was value for money, clean or a comfortable stay.

This Sebel is screaming for a thorough renovation from top to bottom.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the lower side of the street away from the service lane for a better chance of a whol...

We recently stayed at this hotel while we were in Sydney to see Disney on Ice at the nearby Olympic Park.
I booked through a third-party site and there was some confusion about the booking the staff were happy to help me sort it all out. Once that was done we headed up to our room on the 6th floor. We (myself and 2 small children) were booked into a King Superior Room which overlooked the park across the road. The room was clean and very nicely presented - the kids loved the fact that our name and a welcome message were on the telly!
The bed was comfy and there were extra blankets and pillows in the cupboard which we took advantage of. The bathroom was a little dated compared to the room but had the usual toiletries and nice big towels. I liked that the room had windows we could open - a little fresh air is always nice but we did use the heater overnight which kept the room at a nice temperature. Kids enjoyed the free Foxtel channels in the morning before we headed out. The free bus is just outside the door and the train station is about a 10 minute walk away. We headed down the river a few minutes to the ferry terminal where we got on a CityCat & headed into town.
The hotel staff were friendly and helped us with directions and advice on public transport to get to our event which we appreciated.
We had a squizz at the hotel pool which is nicely presented although the weather during our stay (winter) meant we weren't quite brave enough to take a dip!
The second morning we ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was a little expensive but definitely worth it! Cereals, toast, hot brekky, made to order omelettes, a pancake machine - pretty much everything you can imagine for brekky. Kids loved the bowls of fresh fruit which you can juice yourself.
We also used the hotel parking which is very reasonably priced. We were able to easily navigate and park our medium sized SUV in the lower level carpark.
Overall I was very happy with the hotel and would recommend it to others to stay in - we definitely will be return customers!

Reception area is lovely, but then it's downhill from there! Halls are ugly & worn, we stayed in a 'king superior' room which was pretty unimpressive. Bathroom was dated & rusty and no fan! Desperately needs an upgrade! The heater in the room was very loud & woke us up constantly throughout the night. Pillows were too hard, view from our room was ugly. The carpark would've been ok in a small car, but was very difficult to navigate & park in our 4WD, really unpleasant! Breakfast was really nice, although there were no tables free so we had to wait. Reception service was good, staff were very friendly. Overall I'm really disappointed I paid so much for such a crappy room! I have paid far less for far better quality in the Parramatta area. I would not consider staying here again unless they updated their rooms and I got a better price, I feel like I did not get my money's worth at all.
