Lovely quiet streets with nice shops and bars, especially enjoyed looking around the old bull ring. Just as short bus ride from Alcudia main town and Alcudia port.

We visited Alcudia Old Town in June 2012 and again this year. On both occasions the weather was hot and we enjoyed a leisurely stroll and a walk along the city wall with lovely views all round. We avoided market day as markets are not our thing. We visited around mid-morning which was not at all crowded. We had a drink/ice-cream at a pavement cafe before catching a bus back to where we were staying at the Playa de Muro area of Alcudia. Taxis are also available in the same area as the buses stop and for anyone wanting to visit on market days, I would recommend taking a taxi if only a short journey as buses look very hot and crowded on those days and we saw buses pass without stopping as they were already full by the time they reached our area.

The market, was interesting and to walk along part of the old city walls was great, giving a super view of the skyline and a chance to compare the architecture within and outwith the walls. We visited a super cafe.

We went on the market day & if you want cheap handbags & crap kids toys its fantastic. We didn't want those so it was a hotter, sweatier version of any other market. The town looked as though it would have been really nice on a quieter day with quite a few cafés & restaurants.

The old town is full of lovely tapas bars and restaurants. It is definitely worth a visit. We ate in one restaurant which started with the word 'Bistro' and the chicken wrapped in palma ham was delicious. The shops are also worth a mooch once the sun goes down.
