We recently stayed here with four families for a week to celebrate our 30th birthdays. We had 5 infants with us (oldest 4yrs old).
On arrival to the villa - it was not ready for us but this was not a problem, after a quick change, we left our cases & were told it would be ready for us about 3pm. We set off to discover the lovely small town of Alcanada. Set on a steep hill (the villa situated high up) we found a beach bar and sat with a drink in hand until it was time to go back to the villa.
The villa itself was beautiful, very spacious with great sea views. However travelling with wee ones it was a bit of a worry as there were 2 sets of steep staircases within the house. But we had taken travel stair gates as we had noted this previous to travelling. We always made sure the various patio doors were closed so the kids were in one area of thr house.
The swimming pool was a generous size but had very sharp steps leading into it with no hand rail to help getting in and out. We had someone check the pool regularly thoughtout the week as there seemed to be a problem with the filter. The water looked pretty "murky" especially compared to next doors pool but we were reassured it was safe to swim in!?! There were plenty sun loungers to go round but quite a few of these were broken - ideally should of been taken away as there were plenty others - they just took up more room around the pool area.
The hot tub on the roof was a luxury - however the main control was broken so it was a matter of turning it on or off. We ended up turning it on overnight with the cover on to allow it to heat up - Over the next couple of days it took s bit to get thr temperature just right but when we did - it was fantastic. You couldn't ask for a better view watching the boats or looking up to the stars in the night time.
The accommodation itself could not be faulted, the rooms were very spacious and worked out we all had our own bathrooms with fantastic showers and one with a beautiful bath. The air conditioning was a bonus.
if you plan on staying here, everyday essentials were not included such as toilet roll! For there being 6 bathrooms and no toilet roll upon our arrival - i must admit we were pretty shocked! Also other things such as a tea towel for thr dishes despite bath towels being provied. Compared to other villas I have stayed in, it lacked In home from home touches and requires a few maintenance jobs including basic safety measures. But overall the villa was lovely and clean and ideal for a large party.
