We first visited Son Siurana in July 2004. If you are looking for peace, comfort, great views, and your own little house/apartment within a small rural rustic hotel then look no further. The owners are charming, the accommodation all you can ask for. We love it and have been back 3 times - friends who came last time booked to visit again on their own the same year - which says a lot.
We are hoteliers ourselves and have very high standards.
A couple of notes:
1) Not a fantastic breakfast by uk standards - breakfast is served on a plate ( not buffet style) and is mainly fresh tomato on toast.
If you're a fresh fruit fiend suggest you dine in your own apartment.
2) you can't walk to a restaurant - the nearest is a 15 minute drive which presents no problems to us. Lots of super eateries in Pollenca.
3)Son siurana overlooks a mainish road - don't be put off - there is very little noise and the views over the flat valley beyond are superb.
4) When we visited last year (2006) the pool brollies needed renewing - not a problem, the pool area is just as nice - soooo peaceful, but makes everything look a bit shabby. Lets hope the owners read this and take note?!!!

Stayed two nights here from Oct 8th thru Oct 10th, 2006. We booked the junior suite which is not as large as the other apartments but still very charming. Gardens are beautifully landscaped and maintained. There was a lovely vegetable garden in which guests are free to pick whatever is in season. Room was a bit musty but that is to be expected from these stone dwellings with dampness issue. No problem though! Low and behold in the closet was a dehumidifier. This was a blessing since mold spores can thrive and that becomes quite a problem for people like me with allergies and asthma. Room was tastifully decorated with a canopy bed, sofa, TV, DVD, cable, safe, refrigerator, large bathroom, A/C, heating, garden furniture, and a complimentary bottle of wine. Staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Breakfast was served on the main patio above the pool. House is set back from the road so noise is minimal and a non-issue. Hotel is very easy to get to and not a long drive from the airport. We opted to eat dinner both nights in the town of Pollensa, a 10min drive from hotel. There was many restaurants to choose from. Plenty of tourists but they mixed in nicely with the locals. Definitely a more upscale area than other parts of the island. Hotel is in a great position to do day trips to either the cape of formentor, Alcudia, Puerto Pollenca or even Arta. It was more expensive to stay here than some other places we stayed on the island but it was definitely worth it. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and would come back again. Not recommended for people with noisy and wild children.

We stayed at the Son Siurana for 5 nights at the beginning of June this year and thought it was a lovely place. The staff are kind, helpful and as the hotel is family-run, you feel part of a small intimate community.
Son Siurana is divided into apartments and we stayed in "Graner" in the main buiding. The rooms were clean, bright and furnished with rustic charm. Although we didn't have a terrace, there is a large terrace for everyone to enjoy and a swimming pool with a wonderful view of the countryside. We had views of the mountains from our bedroom and lemon trees in the small farmhouse garden.
Breakfast is served on the terrace, if you choose to take it, and is excellent- croissants, cereal, cheese, ham, fruit, yoghurt, tea, coffee, juices etc.
The hotel is located just off one of the main roads on the island which is ideal for exploring- we'd recomment Puerto Pollensa ( for a beach and good restaurants- especially Iru and La Llonja on the seafront- booking advised!) and the mountains- Fornalutx and Soller are lovely villages with great charm. The best thing is that Son Siurana itself is set well back from this road, up a long driveway so the road can neither be heard or seen from the accomodation or pool area.
At a very reasonable price, and with the cheap airlines that fly to Mallorca, this a great place for a short or long break away and we will definitely be back. A real winner!
