Returned once more to San Jose after a wonderful trip the year before. Stayed once again at Las Gaviotas and once again the stay was fab. Room was excellent. Opted again for a room with terrace balcony, which was spacious and immaculate. The Hotel is spotless throughout and the staff here are so friendly, helpful and good natured, it makes it a pleasure to stay.
The Swimming Pool is also immaculate and I manged to get into it this time(twice) and enjoyed each time having it to myself! Its very well maintained.
San Jose is a magical place and I would recomend you stay here. I think the Hotel is really well situated, quietly tucked away and just a few minutes walk away from the centre.
Playa de los Genoveses and Monsul are a pleasure to visit and as I mentioned in my previous review, we walked to them each day without too much bother - if you are a walker it's a pleasant route.
Thankyou once more for a wonderful stay and hope to see you again. X x

Room Tip: If you can, go for one with a terrace balcony.

This was my second visit to Las Gaviotas, it is a basic but very clean Hostal and is suitably situated on the outskirts of San Jose, ensuring a quiet nights sleep. The beds & pillows are comfortable and the linen spotless. The bathroom was ok with a bath & shower, the towels were a bit thin and need replacing. The breakfast is an extra cost but is very good value for money, there was plenty of 'cold' choice meats, cheeses, breads. cereals, french pastries, juices etc etc, there is not a hot option available, I found the breakfast very nice and enjoyable. There is also the bonus of a swimming pool on site here which is beautiffuly maintained and there is a small area to sunbathe with loungers provided along with outside shower & toilet facility. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyable stay and will be back again at some point.

Our scuba diving club recently had our annual pilgrimage to the Cabo De Gata area and we all stayed in las Gaviotas for the 2nd year running.
The situation of the place is only a 10 minute walk from the port and beach areas, on the edge of San Jose, and is therefore very quiet.
Rooms are clean and are reasonably equiped. Breakfasts are avilable at a small extra cost, but do not start until 8.00am. There is a very nice pool area, but this does not open until mid-morning.
See you next year Gaviotas.

Spacious room, with balony & ensuite which were very clean and comfortable. Air conditioning and free WI-FI. Nice pool area to relax in. Only a few mins walk into San Jose.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, and made the stay very enjoyable.
Breakfast was really good and had a great selection and your not just limited to white bread, cheese and ham :)
We were the only Irish tourists among all the Spainish
Really recommed staying here!

we initially booked six nights here, but loved San Jose so much we booked another four nights. We also totally loved staying here. Our room was spacious, clean and had a great roof top balcony and was positioned in a nice part of San Jose just a couple of minutes walk from the restuarants shops and bars, yet quiettly tucked away.
The staff here were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady who seemed to be there the most with the short dark hair and lovely perfume and who spoke Spanish, French and English. I wish I knew her name as she made us so welcome and our stay even more pleasant than it was already. There was a spotless looking swimming pool too which I never manged to get into as we spent so much time on the beaches and in the sea. Not too far to walk to either of the main beautiful beaches Playa de los Genoveses (approx 30 mins but seems more like 15) and to Playa de los Monsul (approx 45 mins but seems more like 25), although all along are loveley little coves and beaches such as los luna. Make sure you carry on past Monsul and climb up to the look out tower too. If you stay here you wont be dissapointed.
Thankyou C and J X

Room Tip: Go for a balcony, if you can.
