We have just returned from our trip to The Farmers Boy Inn. We were visiting friends and we were looking for somewhere local for us to stay. We looked up on Trip Adivsor as we always do when we are looking for somewhere to stay, when we read all the reviews we knew this was the place to stay, the reviews did not disappoint us. We had an evening meal there, we all ate different things and none of us were disappointed with our choices. It is well known for its MAD ABOUT PIES, they have a little shop at the side of the pub which sells, a variety of Wines, beers, cheese and pies. The staff where fantastic, where always willing to help. The room was lovely and clean, with colour co-ordinate bedding and curtains, it was light and airy just what I like in a room. If ever we are in this area again we will surely stay here and eat here again.

We went to the Farmers Boy Inn purely because I managed to get a good deal on Wowcher.
I'm so glad we did because Farmers Boy is fantastic.
We stayed on B&B basis with the voucher but as we were looking to do absolutely nothing for 24 hrs we had lunch and dinner there too.
Farmers Boy Inn are MAD ABOUT PIES, they make , serve and even sell them in their deli on the premises (along with a great selection of wine, cheese and ale).
I had the half and half chicken pie which was delicious and my husband had the steak Guinness and Brie pie which was also very very nice.
The room we had was lovely and more than adequate for us, the bed was huge and everything was lovely and clean.
The staff were very nice and polite. We are going back again in April for another relaxing 24hrs.
WiFi excellent in the bar. Had problems with WiFi in our room which was a shame because we had stuff that we needed to do online. I think it was a temporary problem which the deputy manager tried to rectify, so hopefully it will be ok when we return.
Thank you to all staff.

Room Tip: Accidentally ticked swimming pool and fitness centre, non to rate.

We stayed recently for one night, wish I had booked the extra night. Made to feel welcome the minute we arrived by Hannah, who looked after us all evening. The meal was fabulous, the choice amazing. The room was clean, modern, comfortable, large bed and a decent ensuite.
Breakfast well cooked, local sausages very tasty. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. We will definately be returning in the near future.

As a consultant travelling across the UK, Scotland and Wales, this is somewhere I look forward to staying, this little place has great atmosphere, the staff are fantastic and cannot do enough to help, service is top class, and the rooms are decorated to five star, I have enjoyed a number of nights here and from my experience of bed and breakfast and hotels, this is top of my list, just a shame I cannot go more. The food is out of this world, and top class. If you have never been than get booked in now.

Room Tip: No need they are all fantastic.

Stayed for one night. Friendly welcome on arrival and enjoyed our pies in a cosy bar area next to the wood burner. Food was excellent though the range of beers in the bar is not very exciting, which is a shame given the range of beers that seem to be available in the area. That said, the choice of wines is very good.
The rooms are arranged around a courtyard and ours was clean wam and cosy. Bathroom was a bit disappointing as the powershower was a little weedy and there were no rails to dry wet towels but perfectly serviceable.
