Had a wonderful 2 night spa break at this lovely Hotel with my Mum as a late Christmas present booking. Hotel was really welcoming and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely and the waiting staff could not do enough to help us and the food was amazing. The Spa was amazing and the girls who did our treatments were wonderful. The room was spotless and comfortable and facilities were more than ample. I would definitely recommend this Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the grounds

We stayed at this modern hotel with a group of walkers for 3 nights. It is near the Cotswold Way and other walking trails. On arrival, the receptionists dealt with us most efficiently, and we found the rooms to be clean and in good order. Those who used the leisure facilities found them most pleasing. The buffet breakfast was extensive and the hot food was hot; the staff serving it were most helpful. However, the dinners proved less satisfactory; some of the mains on the first two nights were hard to eat and served cold. The team serving them ignored us from time to time, perhaps too many of them were dealing with professional rugby players or wedding guests in the banquetting suites.

The rates we paid were reasonable.

Dear Rabyrover
Thank you for taking the time to review our Hotel. The Cotswold way does indeed pass within a mile of the Hotel and can be joined on foot via a path which originates at the Shell garage just a few hundred yards from the Hotel. It's a steep climb to the top of the famous Coopers Cheeserolling Hill but it is certainly worth it for the view from the top! You can then choose to either walk into the Witcombe Estate with its glorious views over the reservoir and surrounding countryside or walk the other direction into the Beechwoods surrounding Cranham to eventually find more spectacular views from the top of Painswick Beacon where you can see over to the River Severn.
I'm sorry that your dinner experience did not meet with your expectations. However busy the Hotel is, it should not affect our standards of service or product and I will ensure that our standards are maintained for the future, my apologies.
I hope that you may choose to return to the Hotel soon.
Kind regards

Wow! it's great to hear that you are coming back time and again to the Hotel and I would like to thank you sincerely for your returning custom. We have many guests who return time and again which is lovely because we can then build a relationship with our regulars and recognise and cater for all of your individual requirements. We have a number of business guests who, this week reached repeat stay numbers of over 200 nights!
I hope that you use our Reception team for tourist information. We have lots and lots of ideas for days out and places to visit in the Cotswold's and as you point out, our location is great for exploring all this beautiful part of the country has to offer.
I hope to see you back again for your 5th stay very soon!

We stayed for three nights following a quiet civil ceremony held elsewhere. Everything was as we'd expect from a hotel of this quality - from dropping the bags off the night before we checked in, to the size, cleanliness and comfort of the room, through a delicious dinner and a reasonably-priced breakfast-in-bed to the final check-out. The spa lacked slightly in terms of places to sit, but the reasonably-priced alcohol selection in the restaurant and bar more than compensated for that!

Realy lovely hotel and ALL the staff were very friendly & helpful. The only thing that let it down was the evening meal. They were incredibly busy that particular weekend and we ended up spending about 21/2 hours in the restaurant waiting for ages for our food. However, as I said previously the hotel is beautiful, rooms are a good size and everywhere is spotlessly clean. We would definitely stay there again as I'm sure the problem in the restaurant was a one off.

Room Tip: We had a double on the ground floor and had no problems at all.

We booked through their Friday Feeling Offer - great value at £95 for B&B plus dinner! We spent a bit more for dinner but that was our choice.
The team goes out of the way to make you feel at home despite this being a relatively large hotel and even left a card and a box of chocolate for us to find on arrival as it was our 10 year wedding anniversary. The room was lovely, spacious and spotless with view of the grounds.
Once settled in our room we went for a swim and found that The Spa is absolutely spotless, relaxing and peaceful, having planned to have a quick swim to build up our appetite we ended up being late for dinner.
The restaurant atmosphere is relaxed. The service was extremely quick for dinner and the food was excellent with the steak cooked to perfection. They got slightly mixed up with the wine meaning that I had to choose 3 different bottles as they didn't have the first two I ordered and when they couldn't find the third one they eventually found my original choice (more an anecdote than a complaint!)
They have a very good and well stocked breakfast buffet. I ordered coffee and poached eggs but had to wait, ask again, wait again and eventually we got them towards the end of our breakfast In all fairness we sat for breakfast half an hour before the end of breakfast and I think the restaurant were already preparing for a wedding reception. Despite being near the end of breakfast the buffet was well stocked with an excellent freshly cooked selection!
Once we checked out we were able to use the spa again and thanks to the well appointed changing rooms and showers were able to travel chlorine free after a relaxing swim.
We will definitely come back - if we can book the grand parents to baby sit again soon!

Room Tip: Our room (odd number) overlooked the grounds and adjacent fields and was very quiet but I guess if...

Dear munesca
I am so sorry that you were disturbed by fellow guests during your stay! I can assure you that we do endeavour to ensure that we manage the noise levels of guests overnight and especially when we have a residential function. Our nights team walk the corridors periodically over the course of the night to do security checks and normally any issues are picked up and dealt with during these walks or we act in response to guest calls reporting noise. The phone on reception is manned throughout the night and I can only assume that the night porter was dealing with another guest at the time of your call (both calls to Reception and Houskeeping would have diverted to the same phone). I hope that you will accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you.
Kind regards
