We booked this before seeing all the reviews on here and I am so glad we did. Barbara welcomed us as we arrived. We had tea and cake by the open fire as it was snowing outside and we were freezing. Our room was gorgeous too... lots of room to put things, a big basket with a choice of tea/coffee and fruit and biscuits.

The little village is beautiful and is a great place to stay to access the Cotswolds. I would highly recommend staying here we had an amazing stay and will return on our next visit to the Cotswolds.

We spent a night here as part of a several day walking holiday in the Cotswolds. Guiting Power is a lovely, small and quiet village and Guiting Guest House is well located right in the middle. The guest house is charming and well maintained with a very nice little garden/patio in the front where we sat and had homemade cake and tea on our arrival. Our room was very nicely decorated with it's own entry into the garden. The bed was luxurious and comfortable. Barbara was a wonderful host, made us feel welcome in her home and was very helpful. The only problem we had was that we had booked through an online agency and Barbara had not received the reservation from them so was not expecting us when we came. Luckily she had room for us. It might be better to book directly with her, maybe by telephone.

My partner and I stayed at the Guiting Guest House early October 2011. We wanted a quick getaway from the business of London in a quiet area where we could go for walks and enjoy the last bit of summer this year.

The entire experence was lovely. We arrived late in the afternoon and Barbara served us tea with home-made brownies straight out of the oven. We sat outside in the garden and soaked up the afternoon sun, and watched people strolling with their dogs and the parade of vintage cars that you inevetably see in the Cotswolds on a good weekend.

Our room was lovely - A four poster bed with fuzzy bathrobes and fluffy pillows.

Barbara gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner (the Hollow Bottom Pub) and gave us a flashlight to find out way back to the guest house after dark.

The surrounding countryside is perfect - plenty of places to walk and explore using Guiting as a base. The village is quaint and beautiful - the kind of place where every building has been kept up to the highest possible standards and everyone knows each other. The local pub was full of real characters (if you're interested in chatting).

Barbara and Robert offer a full array of breakfast options to rival any five star served in a perfect little front room that made me wish I had a book, a warm blanket, and the time to curl up in an overstuffed armchair next to the fire.

A great family run establishment where you're invited to come in, warm yourself by the fire, and be a part of the quietness of a small village for a while.

Room Tip: We had a non-ensuite room where the private bathroom for our room was on a different floor - this di...

If you are going to be in the area of Guiting Power I highly recommend that you stay here. My sister and I stayed for two nights in September, 2011. Everything was wonderful!

We really appreciated the little extras, like bathrobes and good quality soaps and shampoo. Our room was nicely decorated, and clean. The beds were very comfortable. We loved the layout of our room with a french door opening out onto the lovely front garden where Barbara welcomed us with a pot of tea and added slices of a delicious tea cake when we arrived!

Breakfasts were delicious, filling and there was a lot of variety. Barbara takes time with things like arranging the fruit on the fruit plates!

We enjoyed peace and quiet even though the B&B is located in the center of town! The location is really perfect - you can walk to the local pub for a nice dinner. The town of Guiting Power is charming.

Barbara was willing to offer advice on the area and she had some maps and other information that was helpful. She also did a load of laundry for me!

We hope to return to the Cotswolds and will stay at the Guiiting Guest House again!

We stayed here on the sixth night of a seven night/seven B&B walk through the Cotswolds. Not only is the Guest House the most charming of the B&Bs we stayed in, it was also managed by Barbara, the best host we had, by far. The Guest House is old, authentic, and extremely well kept. We were greeted by Barbara and provided, without request, tea and cake for an afternoon break. We had the ground floor, garden entry, king-size bedroom on the end of the house, and our traveling companions had the other ground floor (queen-size bed) room. Our room was quite large, immaculate, and very well-appointed. It opened into the garden in front of the Guest House, and had a Dutch Door opening to the other side of the house. Breakfast was made to order, and excellent. We highly recommend the Guest House, and wish we could've stayed a few more days!

Room Tip: Request the large, ground floor king-size room--it is well worth the extra cost
