This is not a fancy agriturismo. There is no pool, tennis court or any ATVs. It's a nut farm. The owners have farmed it for over 20 years and a few years ago fixed up two lovely buildings to house guests. The accommodations are elegantly simple.
We stayed there for four days to relax and it was perfect. Located a couple of kilometers out of Tortorici, near that top of a large hill, the nut trees (hazelnuts, walnuts and chestnuts) grow along terraces for acres and acres. Surrounding the farm are old forests. We spent a few hours each day hiking and exploring by foot.
Besides growing nut trees they also have some livestock, olive trees and an extensive organic garden. If you opt for it, you can eat three meals a day there with everything coming from the farm. Pecorino, olives, pickled and fresh vegetables, home-made ricotta, pasta sauces and meat from their livestock. Only the wine was from off the premises. That came from a neighbors. Every meal ended with an assortment of home made liqueurs. If you like to eat this is a good bet.
