Me and my family (my husband, Sean, our two boys, Jude and Gabriel and their friend, Jake) had a truly fantastic stay in this property. My parents, who were staying in a B&B nearby, also visited us here during their short stay in the area. We are all very familiar with Mudeford and have stayed and holidayed in the area for many many many years (as well as in the Southbourne and Christchurch areas). In the past, we have stayed mainly in caravans (on the Sandhills and Hobourne sites). This year, we were looking for 'not the standard' arrival and departure dates (i.e. a Saturday to Saturday) as, due to other commitments, we wanted our holiday to run from Thursday to Thursday. At this time of year, we found it very tricky to find a caravan for this period but came across this Stanpit property whose owner was very accommodating in taking our booking for our required dates. We really liked the look of it, and thought it would be ideal for our stay...we were absolutely right! The house doesn't have car parking - however, there is a free public car park almost next door - and we had no problems parking our car in there throughout the week. Although it looks quite small from the outside, once inside, you first enter a really spacious and very well equipped kitchen and the house then stretches back into a fantastic and very relaxing lounge and dining area with French doors at the far end which lead onto a very pretty garden. The furniture inside the lounge is really good quality and very comfortable - with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and relax. One of the lounge settees also folds out into a double bed. Upstairs, there is a great bathroom (with shower and bath); a small single bedroom and a double bedroom - the beds in both rooms were very comfortable indeed and the highlight upstairs is the upstairs balcony which leads off the main bedroom. We spent a lot of time on this balcony, taking in the sunshine and admiring the beautiful and far reaching views (as well as watching the fireworks in the distance from the Christchurch carnival!) - it was very special (and very serene) indeed - waking up to the view every morning, and seeing the sun set an night, really did make our hearts lift. In terms of location - you are only 15 minutes walk down to Mudeford Quay and a surprisingly short walk (across the recreation ground almost next door to the house) to Christchurch. We were blessed with beautiful weather during our stay, so were out and about a fair amount of the time, but each day it was a pleasure to return to the house and enjoy all that it had to offer - in terms of relaxation, the comfort, and the beautiful views. We would return here without hesitation and cannot recommend it highly enough. Mudeford has always had a special place in all of our hearts, and our stay in this house will certainly be one of our treasured memories of staying in this beautiful area...we left with very heavy hearts, but we will be back! Thank you.
