Those who are visiting Wayanad, i would suggest this temple simply becz it offers some scenic pleasantness of kerala here. We went to this beautiful temple on a quite, drizzle & Misty evening, what a wonderful pleasent and small temple this one is ! We had some 3 hours to spend over there, since it before 5 p.m (temple will open at around 5.30p.m on eve), we went to small shops around right side of temple and then we reach Panchatheertham (which is a beautiful pond) and proceed to Papanasini where a stream of water is coming which is small but you can oversee thick tree and bushes is starting from there. We returned to temple and worship for small time. But the beauty of this temple lies on its surrouding, quiteness and unadulterated majestic.

A very old temple of lord vishnu. It is very irritating the way the priest throws the sandal paste and flowers at you!
need some authorities to look into the matter.

Thirunelli temple is situated atop a hill surrounded by taller peaks. The temple is pretty old and the architecture and ambiance is good.
On the way back do not miss the amazing sweet appams/coffee (without milk)/buttermilk at the small shop situated at the junction of the road that goes from Tholpatty to Kalpetta. Actually I am writing this review to let people know about these amazing sweet appams !! It is at this junction you need to leave the main road and start the ascent to Thirunelli temple.

Quite old temple, but in a bit of a dilapidated state. No photographs allowed??? Nice drive thru a forest, you can be lucky to see wil animals if you go there in the evening. Open from 5-8 in the evening (don't know about morning timings).
