Nothing much but a dam and waterfall which often kept closed for some or other reason, so before planning talk to the resort about the waterfalls nearby and the status of it. Goodluck

a short drive from our resort, with ample parking space, the dam was a worthwhile excursion. There is a 1 km walk including a climb, though the gradient is gentle with broad steps. The views of the water body are soothing and the speed boat ride a good experience. There are opportunities to ride a solitary elephant or to take a jeep up to the top.The landscaping along the pathway could do with improvement and the concrete shelters, cemented mushrooms are not a good representation of Kerala's architecture. A solitary kiosk serving as a gents toilet seems inadequate.

It's a must visit place in Wayand, You can miss much hyped Pokoot lake but do not miss this.
It is one of the most beautiful dam I have seen with hills covered with clouds on one side and lush greenery on the other. One need to climb lot of stairs to reach the top but once you are at the top you will realize that it was worth the effort.

There is speed boat ride available on the Dam, but the charges are per trip and not per person.
In all beautiful place can be termed as Photographer's delight.

Go there early to get a seat in speed boating. Other thing we liked is the park they have some good swings (many of them indeed) and some go little bit into the valley and back, nice experience.

The Banasura Sagar dam is the second largest earthen dam in Asia - but you will not understand the meaning of this until you climb up the countless steps that take you to the peak of this dam...and behold, you get to witness a wallpaper like scenery everywhere that your eyes wander! This water body is breathtakingly beautiful.

And to complement this scenery, you can get to zoom around on the lake Bond-style on speed boats! Oh yes, there is the boatman who does the piloting but the thrill is straight out of a Hollywood movie. Worth every rupee spent! This is a MUST-DO when you are in Wayanad.
