We had a great and comfortable stay at Misty Meadows in April. The place is scenic and the rooms were tastefully done up and clean. Abishek the host is a very amiable host and took care of our needs very well. The food cooked by his mother and aunt were delicious and healthy. We will go back at the earliest opportunity,

we had a wonderful stay at misty meadows and stayes 4 nights under the hospitality of abhishek (host) having work experience in five star hospitality who was customer centric and always a bell away, and his mom who cooked sublime south indian delicacy with finesse. the homestay is tastefully built and surrounded by nature in abundance with coffee, banana, areca, pepper, cardamom, rubber plantation, with good bird life and treks to explore nearby with abhishek guiding the guest. it was one of our best holidays and much better than the hotel stay. it is hospitality with passion, soul and not with mind and calculation.

For a foodie by nature, of course the first thing that comes to mind is the smell and the taste of all the yummy organic home cooked Kerala food! I loved the avial and the jackfruit dessert. I am salavating just thinking about it now.... I stayed there with my family in early 2011 and enjoyed every bit of my stay there - From the gorgeous views of the lake, the mountains and the tall trees to the aroma of the spices and coffee - clean, spacious rooms! I never missed my alarm clock for a day - you can choose to stay in bed listening to the chirping of the birds at dawn or you can wake up with a fresh cup of hot coffee in your hands and hum along with the birds...

If Kerala is called "God's own country" then Misty Meadows is certainly the "Heaven on Earth"!

Misty Meadows just like the name suggests is nestled between the beautiful karapuzha waterbody and tall trees and coffee plantations! I have stayed there at least 3 times and is a must visit for me each time I am in India... I look forward to the hospitality, the par excellance home cooked food and definitely catch up on some peaceful reading sitting on their beautiful lawn or my room's balcony! The rooms are spacious, and very clean! (Coming from an OCD - it means a lot!)! Take a walk along the lakeside - earlier the better! The meadows are covered in mist, and the sound of the birds and the smell of the nature around you does wonders! Abishek and his family are EXCELLENT hosts! You get the privacy of a hotel but the comfort of a home... I give them two thumbs up and 5 stars!!! Keep up the great work!

We planned to stay for three nights and extended it to six - it's so lovely here. Abishek and his family provide a warm welcome to this impressive new keralan house, with excellent fresh food, much of it from the garden, spotless and spacious rooms, with large comfortable beds, and fantastic views of the lake from the balcony. It’s very peaceful here: you can see interesting birdlife from the balcony, and short strolls will take in paddy fields, water buffaloes, coffee, pineapple, bananas (of course), betel nut palms, rubber trees and much more. If you wish (as we did) Abishek will organise transport and an excellent guide (Sabu) on trips or treks to Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuaries, the Meenmuthy Falls or Edakkal Caves, for instance; he even helped us sort out a new dongle to get back on line. Our most enjoyable experience of India yet!

We had an amazing stay at Misty meadows as part of our Honeymoon. The relaxation, luxury and professionalism hit you immediately as you walk through the gates in to this beautiful and comfortable home. The cuisine is second to none in all our travels through Kerala- beautifully and subtly fragranced and spiced main courses and deserts.
The room was incredible, with the comfiest super kingsized bed ever!
Views from the balcony are stunning, over the beautiful garden, plantation and lake with a stunning backdrop of mountains.
Best of all was the amazing host, who was extremely knowledgeable and has wonderful English- we had great conversations and information about wildlife, spice growing, and also a tour of the coffee, fruit and spices growing in their plantation.
They serve only their own organically grown delicious blend of coffee and home grown fruits.
They are also set up to do all manner of trips and wildlife tours, sadly we were unable to experience this as our stay was too short and we chose to just relax in the luxurious surroundings.
Highly recommended!

Room Tip: All rooms have balconies with a view of the lake and mountains! We had the room with the amazing tig...

Me and my Husband planned a trip form Chennai to Waynad for our Honeymoon and I am glad that we chose Misty meadows as we had such a wonderful experience. It was approximately a 2 hour journey from Calicut station to the guest house. The first thing I observed is the ambience which has to be appreciated. Rooms were spacious and luxurious. And my God!! the view from the balcony was just amazing. The back waters of Karapuzha dam , tall Areca trees just dancing to the tunes of wind. The service and hospitality was too good. Never expected such a service. The food served was something more than home food. Travel was never a headache for us as they even took care for arranging cab for us . We were there for 6 days and we spent a lot of time in the guest house itself playing caram , chatting for long hours in the balcony, and a short walk from the guest house as we missed Kuruva Island and Muthanga Wildlife Sanctury which were closed due to Monsoons and seriously no regrets at all!!. And of course I have to mention about the service person whom we started calling as Mr. Perfect. His service was perfect to the core.
The final inference is guys who are really bugged up with busy city life can anytime plan for a trip to Waynad and Misty Meadows will be right place for you.
