“Great view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2014

Eddakal caves are not the best caves I've seen but still worth a visit for the view from the top and the long walk. Lots of local tourists though so try to go on a week day. Wayanad on the whole is the cleanest and least densely potulated in Kerala and well worth the visit

Quite a uniqe place. Interesting. The climb is not easy, however the view along the way is beautiful and the paintigs on the cave's walls are very special.

“Edakkal Caves”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

It is one of the places to visit in wayanad. Its deep inside the mountain rocks!
The caves is about 300 meters and the walk up the hill about 300 meters. But its a cool one to visit all through the year and the water from the hill flows through a canal. Its not suitable for children and old people. The view from the top is wonderful!

“A long trek upward, but totally worth it!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2014

The caves are at the end of a long hike upwards (our pedometer indicated about 3/4 mile), including approximately 300 very steep steps. However, the view is beautiful, and the ancient etchings are worth seeing - just be sure you are dressed an prepared for the hike to get there!
