Antoinette is the perfect host (Tom was away when we visited). A wonderful welcome greeted us along with tea and biscuits. Nothing is too much trouble for Antoinette – she speaks French, and is very knowledgeable with regard to visiting the area. Antoinette and Tom have created a wonderful place to stay and it does feel like you are staying with some very good friends. Tea and coffee making facilities in rooms, rooms décor excellent, everywhere is spotlessly clean, breakfast was continental style, safe car parking, lovely lounge and dining room, spacious grounds to relax within – basically we had a faultless stay!

We stayed in this lovely house for one night on our way down to the Dordogne. We were made very welcome by Antoinette and we relaxed in the very comfortable guest lounge with a cup of tea. We had two rooms, both of which were stylishly decorated, spotlessly clean and with lovely comfortable beds. The restaurant in the village was closed but Antoinette recommened and excellent place to eat in a nearby town and we enjoyed a nightcap back at Le Presbytere. Breakfast next morning was excellent with a wide choice of breads, cheeses, fruits and meats and set us up well for our drive south. Although we only stayed for one night I think this would be an excellent base for touring the area and hope to return to do just that.

Lovely and welcoming, beautifully decorated and furnished rooms. Very comfortable beds, everywhere spotless even kettle and tea in the room, very unusual in France. Antoinette the owner is English and delightful even pets are welcome. Elegant lounge with TV with English channels and free access to WiFi.

Excellent continental breakfast served on spotless white linen. Large plate of fresh fruits, melon, pear, apricots, cherries, strawberries etc, cereals, variety of breads and croissants, fruit juice, yoghurts, cheeses and cold meats with freshly brewed tea and coffee all served at the time the guests choose.

Very good place for visiting several places such as Rennes, Le Mans, Fougere, Domfront, Bagnole or as a stopping place to or from the ferry.
Really good value, one of the best places I have stayed in, longing to go there again. We spent four peaceful nights here, when visiting to go to a golden wedding celebration nearby.

Although there are only four rooms my advice would be to grab one while you can. There are lovely grounds and safe parking.

Room Tip: All rooms good we loved our Orange room, bright and sunny and a useful dressing/makeup area in the e...

As always we had a wonderful stay with Antoinette and Paddy (special mentions to Tom and Napoleon too) but the first time together and with children. Our rooms interconnected through the hall and a special 'not so secret' passage and the children (10 and 14) absolutely LOVED exploring the house and garden. This is the first time I have visited in good weather and Antoinette's unfaltering attention to detail is apparent in the gardens as well as the house. Le Presbytere is a magical house and we defy anyone not to relax there in the comfy sofas, the impeccably tasteful rooms, spotlessly clean bathrooms, huge cozy towels and sunny, colourful garden. Antoinette is tireless and always brings a smile to your face, her breakfasts are the largest dainty feast you can imagine with cheese, meats, fresh fruits and French breads and croissants so beautifully presented. The children happened to mention my love of Nutella which miraculously appeared in the breakfast table too (don't diet in France it's impossible!). She was a big hit with the children too, encouraging them to speak French and make themselves at home! You don't have to love dogs to visit, but if you do then Paddy will be happy to welcome you to this haven of hospitality and peace and quiet. Be awoken by the church bells, or sleep through them! The orange room is spacious with a sunny bathroom! Thanks to all at Le Presbytere for another superb visit!

We spent one night here on our way down to the Vendee for our holidays. We were travelling with our two young boys. The house is stunning and the interior decoration is beautiful. Our room was very comfortable and had ample space for the 4 of us. Antoinette is really lovely and made us feel incredibly welcome. Despite the grandeur of the property, she and her husband have really given it a homely feel. I would definitely stay again, and will recommend!

This is a lovely place and we received a warm welcome from the hosts and their dog, Paddy! We stayed just one night but this lovely French house would make a great base for touring Britanny/Normandy and is within easy reach of sites such as Le Mont St Michel and is also about an hour from the ferry at Caen.
Heartily recommended -- from the welcoming cup of tea (or glass of wine!) to the lovely breakfast which set us up for the day. We will be back. Definitely.
