I was there for a weeks walking. The hotel is excellent - the rooms are superb, the food excellent and the staff wonderful and this all came together to make me relax into the holiday so quickly - wonderrful abstract art on the walls as well. hired a bike from the hotel and this was solid and in good condition and was able to cope with the hills especially as the tarmac on the road surface is so smooth

lovely to have your own private terrace and the views are wonderful I had room 25 on the red corridor

to conclude a great place to stay

Room Tip: perhaps avoid the lowest level the yellow corridor I was in room 25 on the red corridor and was good

We just spent a week at this fun modern gem of a hotel in Piedmont as part of a walking vacation package. It was outstanding on many fronts. The hotel is very modern, so quite different than many Italian country hotels....it had modern plumbing and air conditioning that worked like ac in the US...it could get quite cold vs. some of the energy saving ac we had elsewhere in Europe. The rooms are built into the hillside so they had a bit of natural insulation...they are tiered and every room has a Terrance with table and chairs and a view to die for! The hotel sits on a hill and looks directly across to a picture perfect town (Rodello) and on our first day we could see the Swiss Alps, even the Matterhorn...70 miles distant....a rain shower had cleared the view...it was spectacular. You are surrounded by vineyards and hazelnut orchards and there are many beautiful walks right from the hotel. It is also a popular spot for folks on biking holidays. The rooms are clean, well furnished (beds a tiny bit hard for American tastes)' tons of space for your stuff. Some folks did not like the open bathroom (there is a door on the toilet/bidet). But I had no problems with it. The hotel is family owned and run and they were beyond delightful with a playful sense of humor. There are not enough superlatives to describe the breakfast buffet...you will not find scrambled eggs and bacon....but local speciality cured meats, cheeses, more fresh baked breads, pastries, torts and fresh fruit than you can possibly imagine...along with endless cappuccinos! I wish it were not so far from my home in the US as I would return Often!

Have just spent a week walking holiday at this hotel with HF Holidays a walking company from England. I am a vegan who must stay gluten-free and I must admit I arrived expecting to eat boiled potatoes for the week. The chef took it as a challenge and made the most amazing four course meals for me each day - I haven't eaten this well in years. The staff is charming and friendly as well - we felt really really welcome.

Would return to orriw

Room Tip: Spend the afternoon at the Maison d'arabe in alba - we had an amazing spa treatment

Having just spent a week here, I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its sister restaurant. We were here on a walking tour, but I would have been content to sit on the terrace of our room for the entire week--or beyond.

Rooms here are modern and roomy. For our longer stay, we appreciated the large dressing area with plenty of room to hang and store clothing. There is also a mini-fridge. Everything was spotless when we arrived and kept that way throughout our stay. All rooms face out on the same beautiful view. The only negative has to do with the bath--there is not a proper enclosure to shower in the bathtub, so it is impossible to keep the floor from getting wet and slippery. But that is the only negative.

Breakfast, in the area off reception, was exceptional. The selection was extensive, and everything was fresh/freshly baked. The servers were pleasant and attentive, always ready to bring more coffee or another latte. The beautiful weather during our stay allowed us to enjoy breakfast on the terrace, looking out over the beautiful view.

The restaurant, run by the brother of the hotel's owner/manager, is outstanding. As part of the tour group, we had more limited selections than a regular patron, but everything that was served was top-notch. The staff went out of its way to meet everyone's requests. All in all, this was a spectacular experience.

We just stayed last weekend in the hotel and could enjoy the great view (with apero) and the pool on a still warm summerday.

The rooms are all very modern and greatly designed. the WIFI is very good and free.. just on the main terrasse it is very weak ;-(

The restaurant is always a great choice, but this time booked out (wedding) so we got an dinner reserveration in the town in la piazza. Very short walk.. 10min. which was ok.

Always a stop worth while visiting the piemont!

BTW: the rollaway for kids below 12 years is complementary.

We could park our car in the garage.. since we bought some wine ... in order to keep it cool. .. just ask the reception, if you are in the same situation.

We found this nice little hotel a couple of years ago. Its the perfect place to explore the Piemonte: everything is near by: Wonderful landscape, great food and all the famous wines and winemakers.
The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpfull, this time we even got an upgrade which was nice as we were exhausted, travelling a long way home from a trip to France. The rooms might seem a little bit cold and functional, but they are spacious and very, very clean. From each terrace you can enjoy the view over the hills. The pool is small but water quality is good.
Breakfast is lovely, you find everything you could desire including very good coffee.
The only minus is the structure of the building: You can hear everything. This time there was a group of men behaving like a horde of howler monkeys, and you get every word and every scream...

Even if if I would like to keep it secret, I will say that this hotel is a piece of paradise! In a small village on the top of a marvelous hill with famous vineyards. From the terrace of the hotel and from your own terrace the view on the all valley is breathtaking.
The hosts are very friendly and work hard to be sure everything is perfect for your stay.
The breakfast is amazing. Fresh fruits, various breads, homemade cakes, delicious cheese, coffee, marmelades, everything is perfect, fresh, local. All the women working at the breakfast seem so happy to work for your comfort!
The restaurant of the hotel is managed by Stephano, the brother of the hotel's manager. The food is prepared with love by the mother and Stephano's wife and is amazing.

The rooms are large, modern and comfortable, each with a terrace overlooking the local vineyards.
The swimming pool is perfect.
I hope we'll go back soon!
