“Delicious Roast Dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014

Do not be put off by some of the reviews on trip advisor. We went for the first time today and had a roast dinner, really delicious and the portions are very generous. The service is very friendly & on a sunny evening it is nice to sit in the restaurant with its big windows. Lovely beer garden, plenty of parking & easy access for wheel chair users. We will definitely be coming back!

“Worst meal in a long time”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014 via mobile

The menu looks great, however the food was truly awful. I ordered chicken with thyme and garlic, with spicy wedges; but could not taste any flavouring at all. The table next to us had the same meal and also complained. Instead of an apology or offer of a differt dish the waiter just told us that the food had been cooked in the usual way! Overpriced Rubbish! We left feeling truly ripped off. Nice garden though.

“Great Saturday night meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

We are regular visitors to the Ragged Cott as it is our local pub, the food is always good, as is the service. However on we recently visited and a really outstanding meal. The service was really good and the menu had so many different fish options, as did the specials board. They have also added more vegetarian options.

“Excellent food but spoiled by disorganised service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2014

Unfortunately our evening was spoiled by poor service, we had made a booking and our table was ready, we were immediately asked what we would like to drink but asked for a few minutes to be able to look at the wine menu. After 10 minutes we had to call the waitress to ask for 2 large glasses of wine, to be told that despite the wine menu giving the price of a glass we could not order a glass from the menu but only from the specials board, this was then corrected by another waitress who then had to explain how to order a large glass. Our bread and oils were then brought to the table as our main meal arrived. The food was very good and this could have been a very enjoyable evening.

“Exactly what Minch needed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2014

My husband used to live in the area so we travel back to visit quite often... This place has seriously taken a 180 degree turn! It used to be an old dark horrible pub and now has a lovely dining area and beautiful garden dining! They did exactly what needed to be done to the appearance! The food was equally as pretty and delicious! I had a radish and crawfish salad to start, very light and fresh! For a main, I had a fried duck egg with a veggie risotto. AMAZING! One of the best dishes I have ever had for a Sunday lunch! Definitely worth the stop! Also, we loved the folding wall/windows that opened to the garden!!! So beautiful for a nice spring day! We had about 10 of us and everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes just as much as I did mine. :)
