Food was all right, nothing special, and when we asked for bread, four very small half slices were somewhat reluctantly given. Service average too. Would not go there again. Pricey for what it was

Yesterday we had lunch at The Ragged Cot at Hyde near Minchinhampton. From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and engaging and offered us the choice to sit at a table of our choice, which is always a bonus. The sun was shining so we opted for outside.

We had a very pleasant waitress who gave us the space and time we needed as we were on a special birthday celebration. We ordered the Pate and the Soup, of which both were gorgeous, I have to add the quality and the portion size we very good indeed.

For Main Course we ordered the catch of the day, and again were offered skinny chips or triple cooked chips, obviously we opted for the triple cooked chips on this special occasion, I believe they were calorie free (only joking).

The Ragged Cot is somewhere not that far from Cirencester where i live and i would most definatly go again as i thought the menu was great and first impressions are they have got it right in my opinion.

The overhall impression was The Ragged Cot is well run indeed, you can see the lovely clean areas inside and out, which is very important. The attention to detail is clear to see so very well done and A HUGE THANK YOU !!!

Just come back from Sat and Sun stay at RC. Everything about our weekend was enhanced by the quality of the staff (particularly Sam & Mia) The food for a country pub was outstanding and the selection of ales and wines top notch. Old Empire IPA best I've had for years, but beware its 5.7 abv.
Rooms Were fine and the little niggley things that happened were immediately rectified, they really were too small to mention.
Enjoyed the banter with Stuart (the boss) particularly re the Hare in the back field. We didn't think Saturday could be bettered for food. Wrong - Sunday lunch was perfect, as were the breakfasts the old spot sausages were the best. Will we be going back.? You bet. Thanks Sam.

The grounds were welcoming, the dining room elegant and refreshing with open views of the garden all around. The menu was healthy and appetizing. We had a variety of sandwiches of pastrami, ham and wild greens, scrumptious hamburgers and delicious crispy piles of french fries (chips as the British call them). Would recommend that they incorporate a children's menu, though. We ate outdoors under an umbrella with the freedom for the children to play while we waited for the order. Recommend it to all.
