Due to unexpected illness we had to cancel our booking of a week's fishing with the family in France (cottage with own lake) and try to book something similar in UK and found 38 Isis. Booking was simple and easy with great communications from the owner. Upon arrival we had milk, tea and cake waiting for us (and skips for the children). And the house was immaculate, clean with everything that you could ever need for a week's break, including lots of games etc.
Fishing was very good with lots of Carp including some lovely looking Koi. Carp were often feeding off the top of Isis lake next to the man made beach. Didn't fail to catch during each fishing session with the largest being just under 16 lb. There were very few people fishing and plenty of swims to choose from. We never got to try Windrush lake which is much bigger than Isis lake and likely to have bigger fish.
Lots to do around the area, including the Wildlife Park and Outlet centre. Superstore only 10 minutes away. The Lakeside Brasserie restaurant was a very good location...although the food was nothing special an parking was difficult.
If you want a quiet, restful break or want a carp fishing holiday, would most definitely recommend 38 Isis.
We really loved this lodge. On arrival it felt as though someone had opened their home to us, well stocked kitchen, thick carpet in the lounge and beautiful bathrooms; not to mention the tray of tea, cake and snacks for the children. But the best bit about the lodge is the location space for the children to play on the grass by the lake whilst we relaxed on the balcony and enjoyed the view. The only downside was the main bed was uncomfortable.
But will book again.
The house was very clean, well presented. There was 3 adults and 2 children and all had a brilliant time. The house had everything you needed for a home away from home stay.
A good location for a short say. Accommodation had everything you need and was very well presented. Plenty of space and lovely view of the lake. You are walking distance from the Lakeside Brasserie and Restaurant next to Four Pillars Hotel. Also information centre had a very good cafe. On site there were three very well kept tennis courts, also good play areas and games rooms for the kids. This gave them independence onsite. Water sports nearby (walking distance), walks around the lakes plus close proximity to other dog friendly walks in the Cotswolds. WE stayed for three nights and it was ideal for what we wanted for our break.
Stayed here for 2 weeks with husband, 2 teens plus dog. The decor is beautiful; fresh, clean and elegant. All in all very comfortable and well-equipped. Great wi fi access (essential with teenagers!).
The complex is great to stay in - easy distance of Cirencester, Cheltenham, great walks .... the Cotswolds generally. The owner dropped the access card (to get through security barrier) into us after a few days: if you are staying for a weekend I would say it doesn't matter if you don't have this, but if you are staying for a week plus then it is a pain not to have it so make sure you ask for it.
