De Vere Cotswold Water Park
Ranked #1 of 1 Hotels in South Cerney
Reviewed April 1, 2014

We have stayed as a family of two adults and a teenager several times here, we find it great for a one or two night break away from the busy surroundings of our home. It is a very peaceful hotel so is nice if you simply want to do nothing. The food is of a good quality with extremely friendly staff which make the experience that little but more personal.

The rooms are of a good standard with all the amenity required, the beds are also comfortable which makes for a good nights sleep on the quiet hotel. The hotel on a whole is very modern and spacious, it suits families, couple and individuals down to a tee. I'd recommend it.

Room Tip: A room with a lake view is nice for those who appreciate this.

This was my first time here & it was lovely! The staff were very nice & all friendly & helpful. The spa was nice, we had the Indian head massage & it was gorgeous! The pool was lovely, and showers hot. We booked for the cake & drink package with head massage, and even though we were shown where the drinks were, the bar staff did not seem to know what the deal was with the cakes, however we were told a pudding would be brought to us. We had a trifle each sent to us, which was ok, but not the cake which we were expecting. That aside, it was nice having any drink we wanted. It was a nice treat on a weekday & I would def go again.

Good place to stay. Rooms roomy but could be warmer, but we did overlook the lake so got the wind!
Restaurant food was good, breakfast especially. Dinner was a little slow but it was busy.
Swimming pool / sauna / steam room ok, a bit boring in there with not enough beds to go round.
Good value for money on a groupon break.

Room Tip: Avoid a room overlooking the lake if you don't want the wind keeping you awake - but weather was...

We booked this for recuperation as I had had recent surgery. I contacted them before and asked for a quiet room with a lake view which we were duly given.
The room itself was comfortable and big, the decor is beige which is a little unimaginative but inoffensive. There is a decked area which virtually surrounds the hotel which was also outside our room which was on a corner. Because of this we had a number of people stop right by our window to admire the impressive views... That was the only downside as we couldn't open our inner curtains without being a goldfish bowl to everyone.
The staff were excellent and have us everything we needed.
We had a cream tea which was nicely presented but the cream was whipped not clotted as described.
We used the spa but only the pool and steam rooms as the treatments were heavily overpriced.
We would stay again and would like to have treatments but at those prices we just wouldn't entertain it.
The pool is lovely but does get very busy so it's not as relaxing as some but either way it's a good feature.
All in all we wouldn't come back.

Whilst we are sorry to learn that our guest underwent an operation prior to their stay, we are pleased that they were able to relax at the hotel and enjoy the food, our afternoon tea, the Spa and Spa treatments.

I stayed recently for a friend's wedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful, making the event a great success. My room was very nice, well presented and of a high quality. My only criticism is that the designers never thought that sound proofing between my room and the corridor was important. Ear plugs were a must!

Extremely attentive and helpful staff, very reasonably priced carvery, nice range of meats and vegetables, well cooked.
Lovely location, our table was in large glass fronted restaurant over looking the lakes with uninterupted view of the water birds and wildlife.

Four of us had Sunday lunch at The Four Pillars Brasserie.
Three courses, Four if you have the salad as well.
Everything was lovely, food hot, fresh, roast beef a little to rare for our guests, but turkey and gammon just right.
Lovely looking out over the lake, a very affordable and enjoyable lunch.

Room Tip: Did not stay visit was for lunch only.
