A great hotel. Very helpful staff. My room was very clean and spacious with a spotless bathroom. The room included a iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. The hotel was busy but quite. Breakfast had a good selection of items. Located in a easy to reach spot.

Stayed here recently for one night during a trip across the UK. Paid budget price of approximately £45 and for that got value for money, would want to pay too much more though. Plenty of free onsite parking. Staff friendly throughout.
Check in process straight forward however the hotel is operating two different style of keys for rooms (the old style swipe a card in a slot and the newer hold the card over the lock). We were given the wrong key type on check in and even when going back to reception a second time were still provided with the wrong key)! Eventually all resolved but would be good for the reception team to be a bit more switched on to this.
Comfortable main bed and pillows, fan provided as no air conditioning. We were using the sofa bed which was adequate for one night. The sofa bed took up a lot of space which meant the whole room was tight for space.
I understand the rooms were refurbished last year however, I don’t think this applied to the bathroom as it has certainly seen better days with respect to sealant and grouting.
All in all a budget hotel, adequate for an overnight stay but wouldn’t rush back.

We are currently undergoing a new room key installation in the hotel and I can understand your frustration that you had to go back to Reception as you were given the wrong type of key. This was my second return visit after a visit in June marred by a number of let-downs. This visit was altogether more enjoyable with some fantastic friendly staff on duty. One of the off-duty managers took the trouble to explain some of the background to what happened in June which made things easier to understand (but not necessarily forgivable!).
As ever my room was clean, quiet and comfortable. With a decent shower and a half sensible breakfast that's all I ask of a hotel (and a well stocked bar!). However, at £95 the HIE rooms are getting very expensive for the facilities offered.

This hotel is in a great area for getting into Gloucester city but still near the M5. I have stayed here several times and it is always the same. Friendly helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms with spotless bathrooms. The fully equiped rooms include iron and ironing board, a decent hairdryer and a neat tea/coffee tray which you can restock freely from the reception area. There is a area where you can sit and have a drink in the evening which then becomes the breakfast area in the morning. Breakfast is plentiful, served as a buffet to help yourself. There is a good choice of juices, yoghurt, cereal, croissant, muffins, toast and a cooked choice of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and baked beans. There is also a bowl of fresh apples, oranges and bananas.
