We have been there last week-end of May.
We spent a night in the gite, simple but lovely!!
Much much better than those cold hotel chains!
Nicky (the owner) has been a perfect guest: she provided us with all the information we needed.
Breakfast was rich and superb with fresh croissant and home made jam!!

Location is perfect if you are planning to visit D-day beaches starting from the west part.

We arrived earlier than we had anticipated and we were welcomed very warmly by Nicky and her beautiful daughters. This is our 6th trip and again we have been made to feel very welcome and part of the family We even had tasty, if a bit smokey, BBQ's. Cider Farm is the ideal place to recharge your batteries and a wonderful place to see all the local wildlife. Nicky made our stay extremely comfortable and we look forward to visiting again next year.

Before we arrived, we were exhausted from busy weeks at work, and were ready for rest and relaxation. We rented ' the gite"..or cottage at the farm. When we walked up the stairs to our bed and bath, all the stress evaporated. Nicky had the back windows with billowy white curtains opened to the green farm fields dotted with cows, and the sun was low in the sky, and it was so quiet and peaceful and gorgeous. That night, Nicky served us dinner on a table outside our front door in the courtyard. It was the perfect place for what we needed at the time. Beautiful old buildings, fresh country air, farm animals, good food, and such a welcoming friendly host... and quiet...did I mention quiet?? Slept like logs! Went to a lovely Monday market in Carentan, got some groceries, and were alble to use the perfect little kitchen and BBQ at the gite for some meals. We took walks on the country roads, did some day trips. Perfect location for visiting the D-day beaches, it is only 1 and 1/2 hours to Mont St. Michel, and close to the Cider Route. Lovely chateaus are a short drive away. Driving is great. Roads are wonderfully signed, which makes driving a treat. Nicky loaned us a map, and gave us advice related to our plans. Nicky and the girls, and her mum were very friendly and welcoming, and even before our arrival, she was a big help on e-mail; with all kinds of advice and answers. If you ever find yourself coming this way, take the opportunity to stay at Cider Farm. You will not regret it.

We stayed at the Cider farm for 2 nights at the start of our 2 week holiday in France. Ideally located to visit the Normandy Beaches. when we arrived we were met by Nicky, who upgraded us to the gite instead of staying in the house. what a lovely little gite, perfect for 2 with stunning views from the bathroom window ! Nicky cooked for us on the first night, which i fully recommend, no washing up ! and you can relax over a bottle of wine and not worry about someone having to drive.
Nicky was very friendly and knowledgeable about the Normandy landings and the local village involvement, we had a fascinating conversation.
If we travel in that area again we wouldn't waste time looking for anywhere else

Have stayed here three times now, once with Brother-in-Law for his 40th and did the WW2 stuff, once on my own and this time with my partner. Stayed in the gite.Warm welcome everytime. Great little bedroom.Thought the bed really comfy. Lovely cottage feel to it. Nice view from the bathroom window (note the original French shutters). Excellent base for visiting Normandy. Beaches only about 30 mins away by car. Head for Coleville sur Mer (the Big Red One monument) and the German defence point WN62 where there is a lovely beach patrolled by Lifeguards. You can walk out a fair way into the sea and still only be up to your waist. Also a few tidal pools form here and there which are well used by families for safe swimming. Utah Beach is good as well. Museum there and also a little Cafe/Restaurant opposite with internet access. If you're not in a rush to get anywhere try a trip over to Granville, workaday town and port, then make your way back via the coast to get a view of Îles Chausey and Jersey before taking the country roads back to Ciderfarm. With a bit of luck you'll come across some nice little villages/hamlets that are reminiscent of the Cotwolds. Nicky makes a nice sandwich as well.
Périers has a good Supermarket and is a pleasant little town with a nice feel to it. Although Carentan is actually closer Périers felt a bit more 'homely' to me.
Ciderfarm, of an evening it's nice to sit out and have a drink or watch the sunset from the bathroom window (you can draw up a chair there and relax). It's also nice to walk along the adjacent country lanes.

This is our 5th trip to stay at Cider Farm and it gets better each year. The farm is in a rural setting and very peaceful and quiet. It isn't far from the tourist locations for the WW2 Normandy landings. Should you not want to visit the Normandy landing coast there are some beautiful villages and beaches on the opposite coast. Mont St Michel is beautiful and well worth a visit as is St Lo, Bayeaux and Caen. We have been made very welcome by Nicky and John and they both have a lot of knowledge about the local area and places to visit. Also if you have a problem (unfortunately we had a puncture on the way to the ferry on the M1) Nicky went the extra mile to help us get a replacement tyre. Thanks Nicky. We will be visiting Cider Farm next year.

Ann & Keith stayed at Cider Farm 2 years on the run 2008/2009. On both occassions we had a very pleasant stay. With the added advantage, of Nicky cooking the evening meals which were excellent, home cooking with generous glasses of french wine. This was a tremendous advantage after a long day of sightseeing

Being 4 of us we stayed in the Gite and found it very relaxing. The family and the animals made you very welcome. Cider Farm is an excellent location for visiting the various 'D' Day landing points not to mention easy reach to all the other places of interest. Highly recommend Cider Farm for its location and local history. We will definitley be visiting again.
