“Amazing food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014

Decided to wing it & pop in for lunch without booking as it was such a lovely day, all I can say is thank goodness we could be accommodated.
We had entree of mussels and cured salmon, and mains were the pork medley and seated salmon.
The meals were out of this world, presentation amazing and taste beyond all expectations. This chef is a gift from heaven, there is no other way to describe his skill.
The entire staff are all fantastic and it will be a pleasure to return.

“Exceptional dining experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

We enjoyed a long lunch at Frogmore during a visit to the region having previously dined here once some years ago. Without a booking they accommodated our group of 5 by suggesting we enjoy a complimentary wine tasting whilst they set up our table. We tasted several wines which was a great way to establish which wine to choose with our meal. The restaurant has a lovely outlook over lawns and grape vines to the water view beyond through floor to ceiling windows. The service provided by our waiter Opetti was exceptional and extremely professional. Beautifully presented meals were delivered efficiently. The blue eye on crab risotto, pan fried salmon, and pork belly were all fabulous and the sides of pink eye potatoes and walnut & nashi pear salad were lovely. When we were having difficulty deciding between the desserts Opetti suggested we share 3 tasting plates between the table which was a lovely way to experience all the options and good value at $20 per plate. The whole experience was such that we all commented that we would definitely return. The restaurant can accommodate larger groups but is also very suitable for couples with great ambience and enough scope in the menu to suit most.

“Wow, wow, wow”

What fabulous meals and service. We were a party of eight and all were served faultless meals. The waiter was extremely obliging and the three courses were served at appropriate times without being rushed. Everything on the plate(s) was there for a purpose and all flavours were put together perfectly. The location is stupendous and the restaurant itself is lovely inside. Can't wait to go back.

“Sip and sup at this great winery near Richmond”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2014

We read about this restaurant in the 2013 Gourmet Traveller guide, and as we stayed in Richmond we thought we should not miss going there. Fortunately we wanted a late lunch booking which worked in well with the restaurant as they were very busy with two large tables. When we entered we stopped to taste some of their wines, and then were seated outside which was sunny but breezy. We had oysters, fresh artichoke salad, lamb, venison, salad and dessert tasting plate. Everything was well presented and very good except the venison, which was tough unfortunately. It was deleted from our bill after speaking with the very knowledgeable Maitre d Steve. We mention Steve not only because of this fact but because at the end when it was getting colder outside, he immediately agreed we could move inside for our dessert.
The other staff members were not at his level, e.g. when the bread and olive oil was placed on our table the oil spilled messily from its bowl.
On the mezzanine floor of the tasting room there is a wonderful story and design on the actual wooden floor worth seeing. The views from the terrace are amongst the best we have seen in Australia. Even if you are looking for lunch at 3pm this restaurant could still be open, certainly worth going to.

“Great views, good wine, excellent service of delish meals.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2014

Set lunch menu is amazing. Def worth doing and I think very well priced at $75 for 3 courses with lots of local fresh produce to chose from. Great views, whatever the weather. The cost for tastings is a little disappointing though. Seems unneccessary. Wouldn't keep me away though!
